View Full Version : My Strange Question of the day -- Is it possible to be twins BUT

Okies, Ive been thinking this for sometime :) Do not ask me where it comes from cause I don't know except it was a random saying I said one day.
Is it possible to have been twins BUT the other twin was never born?? So instead its like 1 body has 2 souls... ones more stronger than the other and is more in control??
Being adopted I don't know the answers to my birth. I just know I was born with so many problems (due to b-mom's drug use and drinking) that I wasn't expected to live at all.
But there are so many times I feel like I have 2 souls :) More than a couple people have remarked on this (supposely my eyes really change when Im in deep thought or really pissed at someone... they say its like looking at someone else in my body) so I said "Well then maybe Im a twin... the other twin was never born, 2 souls in one body.... ya, that explains it." lol
But I did give that side a name of her own lol There, now I can be just me hehe
So what are your replies to my strange question and thought of the day??

I was _almost_ a twin... another baby never formed, but could have.. it's kind of interesting to think that I might have another soul too.
It's normal to have different parts of your personality. Nobody is the same person once you get them mad, I think it's a self-defense thing... it helps to show people how angry we are.

Yes but its not always when Im mad that the other one shows... I could be in great mood too. Maybe if its possible for 2 twins to share the same body, one is stronger than the other... perhaps the other gets stronger when Im angry perhaps?

We're constantly changing, I think multiple parts of your personality is what helps us decide what changes we want to make to who we are. Like, if occasionally a part of me has an interest in hearing different forms of music, i'll listen to that for a time and decide if I want to change my music tastes... etc

Interesting question Tasha sweetie....
I can’t answer about vanishing twin syndrome but I can say having lost my twin sister that her loss is like having a cold steel blade plunged through my heart and soul; quite strange really when I have no conscious memory of her.

For what my opinion is worth, I'd say no. Every soul has to have its own experiences, and that can't happen if souls are sharing the same bodies.
However, maybe you have a twin soul or something along those lines that you have a very deep spiritual and karmic connection. Have you tried meditation to try to get closer to this feeling and try to find out who/what is behind it?

i certainly have often felt as though i had a split personality.. but then i realized i was transsexual.. not sure if this means there was an unborn twin, but something upstairs in the neurological system turned out a little "different" in me..

I don't know alot about twins. But I was pregnant with twins and according to the ultrasound the one twin was 3 days older than the other....strange huh? I ended up losing both early on in the pregnancy.
I also recently watched a show on Discovery channel titled "I am my own twin". That sounded freaky to me so I watched the show. It seems they are finding that people may be starting out as twins in the fertilization process and then for some reason they don't break/separate into two and stay one. The two women they were talking about on the show had different DNA from their children. One was going through a battle to keep her kids and because her DNA did not match they said they were not her children. It just happened she was pregnant with her 3rd and so when she went into labor they had someone watch the birth and then immediately in the same room check the DNA of mom and baby. They didn't match! They did alot of testing and typed all organs in her body for DNA and discovered that her liver had the matching DNA to her kids, but the rest of her did not. Now that is freaky. How many others out there may have this same problem?? The judge who ruled on this said "How do I know when I have DNA checked on fathers and I say it doesn't match, this child/children are not yours...that I'm wrong and taking their kids away from them"?
I know this doesn't answer any of your questions Tasha...but I thought it interesting! ;)

My second pregnancy was twins, around the 13 week, I found out through ultrasound that it was indeed twins ( but I knew in my heart before the ultasound happened) but, the ultrasound tech went eerily quiet and the normal, here's a leg, here's your baby's face didn't happen. When I received the report from it a few days later, I saw that one of the babies had died. Ended up needing special monoriting for the rest of the pregnancy to make sure the dead twin, didn't truncate the living one. I was so devestated at the time, but was happy I still had one baby.
Anywhoo, I never told my daughter about her twin, but a few years ago (She was around 5 years old), She started talking about her twin she said "Mommy I think I have a twin sister, She's not here, but I see her at night".
Strange things happen.....guess this doesn't answer the question though.

My second pregnancy was also twins, identical twin boys Caleb and Matthew. I carried both to "term", ok they were 7 weeks early, but they were both born and healthy. 10 days after they were born Matthew got very ill and died 3 days later. Sometimes i catch Caleb talking to the air and when i ask him who he is talking to he says "brother", now i do have an older son but he is never around when this happens so i can only assume that it is Matt.
Again this does not answer the question directly but the point i am trying to make is that twins have a very close and connected bond so if you were a twin in utero then it is possible to be connected on some level to them after birth.

Hi Littleray.. Im sorry to hear that your daughters twin died :( But the twin's spirit could still be attached to the living twin... maybe thats why your daughter sees her twin.
I know my sister was a bit freaked out when we were younger and slept in the same room (she had her own... but watched a scary movie and didn't want to sleep alone lol) ANYWAY she said I started talking in my sleep to a girl was was supposly in the room. My sister tried to listen to the converstation but only picked up the name I said.... she was a bit freaked out so she woke me up. She said its not the first time I have spoken to this person in my sleep.

Tink, ya, we talked about that on Yahoo Messenger the other day.... I think it is Matthew talking to Caleb.... just cause his body is gone doesn't mean his spirit is as well.

There was a show on the discovery channel about a month ago about ppl who were supposed to be twins but the surviving child absorbs the fetus of the other twin and when givin a DNA test it depended on what part of the body they took it from as to the maternal or paternal DNA of that persons offspring, so I believe that what you are feeling or experiencing is possible. ok Ive got a strange request for you.. tell me your birthdate.. just the month and date, don't need the year.. maybe I can tell you why you feel the way you do.. Im not weird, just good at telling a person by those means.. also, yes its possible to be a twin and not have your twin live and you could have that twins soul (or what we think is) locked up inside you. also known as a split personality.. I can tell you better by the dates.. later..........
