View Full Version : Peniphobia??

Ok. I admit it. I am confused :crosseye:

I keep coming across posts that object to people putting up pics of themselves in various stages of undress, with particular objection to the final stages.

Last I checked, we all have a body. And underneath the clothes, it is naked. If someone wants to share pics of that in their profile, that's kewl. :) If someone chooses to not look at said pics, that's kewl too. :) Others choose to not post pics in the final stages of undress, kewl also. :)

I'm not sure why this is an issue, especially here. We're not all looking for the same thing...so what?

Besides, who are we to judge as to why people post whatever pics they post or don't post.

But the suggestion that "some people should not post nude pics" that have also been made in other posts I find to be somewhat judgemental.

Geeez....I have a hard enough time trying to figure out my own sexuality, and now I gotta worry that my body might not measure up??

Quite frankly, I like seeing pics of people who are not necessarily "poster porn people" in whatever stages of undress they feel like posting. I think we get so exposed to the same images (you know...the "this is what you must look like image") in the media, etc that just about everyone feels like they don't measure up in some way.

What I am finding is that there is a huge variety in the human body and everyone is unique.

ok....climbing down off soapbox...and covering up c-section scar for those not ok with it....

No, I don't have nude pics up  ....I'm having enough trouble putting up my entire face! LOL!

Hey,

Could not agree more. People should be allowed to post whatever photo they want, if it happens to show a naked body so be it.

Maybe the Ahem people are slowly trying to drive anyone with an Ahem pic off this site. Hmm.

me thinks the ahem people need to ahem the right chickens... themselves maybe? lol

nakedidity doesn't exactly offend any other animals on the face of the planet yet people seem to have serious contentions with it.

smacks of the pope on a rope to me.

The ever on going conflict continues.

Personally, I dont mind it at all, but I can see how it can hert the site in some ways.

For example, Because of so much adult content on the site you need to be 18 to sign up (or are supposed to be at least). There are alot of Bi teens out there missing out. Second, any location that filters internet sites will block this site because or the nudity, meaning that you can really only access the site form home. Forget Cyber lounges or schools or work or libraries if you are away form home. Third, some confused bi who is looking for support and has searched "bisexual" finds our site through the barrage of porn and happens to notice some naked pictures right off the bat and gets the wrong impression. Fourth, it takes away some credibility. Forget a guidance councler at a school or any support group with a reputation referring anyone to this site for support. Imagine the concequences if a school councler refered a confused student to a site that has naked pictures and cyber sex and topics about "eating cum". Or thing of the loss of credablity a support group could lose (although it is unfortunate that they would lose creditability for somthing like that, but thats the world we live in).

So, its nice to have the freedom to post these pics, and its a nice was of expression. But one should think of the costs of such freedoms.

well flex.... its all too easy to say that we are all naked under the clothes.....

what it doesn't take in to consideration, is a persons personal tastes.....

as I have posted in one of the * ahem * threads, if i wanted to stare at naked people, I can go to a porn site....however, porn interests me about as much as a bikini wax.....

I know of some people with the most gorgeous bodies, some are tattooed, some are pierced and some are scarred badly
its the ones that have the scarring from burns etc, that my heart goes out to
they will never show their beautiful bodies online, cos people can be so hurtful with their remarks.... and the same applies to the posting of * ahem * pics in the site

parts of my body are covered with skin grafts, and I carry my scars with pride, they are a reminder of a part of my life, that would have destroyed the average person
but many people never see my scars.... and so they judge me according to my personality, my posts and my constant cheerful banter........
if i was to post the pics of my body, then i would get told to remove them as they are offensive.....

as the song goes * i am body beautiful *.... and i am.... its just that the beauty is a bit more then skin graft deep lol

Yes, it is easy to say we are all naked under our clothes.

I agree with what you are saying and that was pretty much the point I was trying to make - that not only are we all naked under our clothes, but that we are all DIFFERENT under our clothes.

And some of us have scars. Myself included.

Unfortunately, you are right. A lot of people find those kinds of things offensive. I prefer to see them as unique.

Beauty IS far more than a body. Matter of fact, I have met people with "gorgeous" bodies who I wouldn't want to give the time of day to, cuz their personality is not exactly reeking of beauty.

So it's like I was saying, that if someone's going to judge me on my body (no matter what kind of body it is) then I don't really want anything to do with them anyway. :)

Just my two cents, I agree with Long Duck Dong that scars are a very beautiful part of the body.

What other machine can be subjected to being cut open at the wrong places, and heal itself stronger than before it was cut?

For the ones that choose to be offended by naked flesh though, maybe it would be a good idea to have sort of a flag for the pics that depict those parts?

I don't know if that would be touching on legal boundries for the site of what constitutes a porn site or not, but I think it seems like a good idea.

Then again, being offended by these pictures IS a personal choice.

Whilst I have posted a part of my anatomy on the photos, maybe the body is better in its entirety. Mine photo is the epitome of a thumbnail, the smallest and prettiest in the fleet. But it is anonymous, it would be better as part of the whole body. Then it becomes identifiable with the individual.

I guess you have the choice to robe or disrobe and finally; without providing censorship, it should be left to the folks that run the show to ensure the decency or otherwise of the site.

Come to think of it, the *Ahem* folks haven't been around for a while, me thinks... :paw: :paw:

P.S. - Hope this don't get 'em going again... :paw: :paw:
