Talk about mission impossible.
I've got nothing before the 70s and as a metal head. That's impossible to narrow down to 1 song per decade. I can't even narrow it down to one band per decade

WHen I listened to real metal (Not the Motley Crue we are total metal as we produce pop metal songs)..........I listened to a lot of classical to get inspiration when I wrote.

But as a player, song writer, performer, recording hired gun....................I listen to so much, it was tough, especially the 70's and 80's. If you take a road trip with me, it can go from Priest, to Jimmy Buffett to Smooth Jazz in 22 minutes

You'd drive me crazy.
Like when public radio plays slipknot, then korn and just as you're really getting into the groove. They follow it up with something like green day...
