Anyone besides me hate sleeping in strange beds ?

Every time I make a San Diego trip, it's not the trip I hate, it's the not sleeping in my own bed

Oh well, 3 days I will be back in my own

Lol after I got out of the army, I actually struggled to sleep in a normal bed for a number of years....and my sister would often find me asleep on the couch or on the floor.....

Even now, I struggle to sleep with somebody else in a bed beside me, and I am lucky in the respect that my partner understands.....that or she just thinks that I am completely insane, lol

my partner however can not sleep in a strange bed, and has admitted to dragging off the covers and sleeping on the floor, and yeah when she moved in, I moved my bed into the spare room so she could sleep in her bed.......

I am not looking forward to the day that we need to buy a new bed......I hate shopping, with a vengeance while she is a * discerning * shopper, AKA she can spend a few days shopping for a pair of jeans that she likes and still not find any she likes......

As long as a bed is clean and comfy I manage sleep no matter the bed.. Of course if I manage some energetic nocturnal activity in said bed, sleep may be delayed, but is frantabulous when it arrives..

I sure don't miss traveling for work! The only times I slept well in a hotel room bed was if I was so exhausted I'd have slept equally well on a park bench.

I get what you mean, since I was in combat units, I rarely slept in a bed, we were always out somewhere.............and lets be real, those cots, the floor was better, I did the same thing, slept on the floor.

when you buy a new bed, I have a gel/ memory foam. Even though I am frugal, I pony up the money and spent 2 grand on it, I will never ever buy a cheap bed again, this is all I will own

For that, another weird thing, I always get the room with two queen beds, that way we set the quilts to quivering in one, then I sleep in the other

I generally hate hotel beds in budget motels, especially when they have bed bugs biting me all night.

It doesn't particularly bother me. Strange beds, strange places, strange tents, strange sleeping bags. I sleep about the same everywhere. Although I use a silk liner when I am in a strange sleeping bag.

I think I miss the comfort of what I know..............just like at parties, I can come across as standoffish until I know people

Heres something totally funny, I am not good with change at all, it takes me a while to adapt, go figure, I like homefield advantage when I sleep of everything exactly as I want it

Nope. When my job takes me out of town for weeks to months at a time. It takes me almost a week to get used to a strange bed. Some hotels have been a nightmare, but the ones that were great were a pain because it took a week to get used to my bed again.

I used to travel a lot for work and just learned to sleep in whatever bed was in the room even though some mattresses were hard as bricks or so soft that I'd feel like I'm sinking into the bed. You just learn how to adjust because if you don't, you're gonna be dragging your ass when the sun comes up.

When I was younger, I could sleep anywhere, as I have gotten older, I have learned to appreciate a quality mattress, so now it is hard to sleep anywhere else

I travel a lot for fun, don't mind most beds. But I will say it is always nice to come home to my bed (and toilet:)

Take the above for what its worth, I camp a lot so the ground is often fine for me

Years ago, I was a Driver for a hotel. One day the manager asked if I could help Maintenace remove a bed and chairs from one of the rooms. The manager said that the guest had requested it, as he was having his bed from home trucked over, as he didn't like to sleep on a s strange bed when he was away from home. It must be nice to have that kind of money. And as always, he never tipped anyone.

I got home last Thursday night and realized I hadn't tipped, so I mailed it down,I was so freaking tired I just brain farted

I agree with that. I had motorhomes for 25 years. That way I could go places and have my bed, closet, shower, bathroom, and living space wherever I went. Sold that and purchased a yacht 3 years ago and recently sold it. Now when I go to S.D. I stay on friend's boats. It's not the same. When I go on road trips I'd rather stay in a hotel than with friends and or family. I agree my bed is where I get my best night's sleep.

He used it for fishing and camping trips. He still has it and takes his wife and kids away over weekends too. It his baby.I loved driving that camper, but loathed trying 2 sleep in it. I never could get comfy.. It was fine for canoodling so long as I wasn't underneath.. He has spent a bomb over the years keeping it roadworthy, comfy and in general good nick. His present wife and kids luff it.. I am taking no chances so I turned down his offer to borrow it for a few weeks!!

Thats another one for me, I am not comfortable sleeping in other peoples homes, truthfully, I think as I get older I am just developing some strange type of , can't think of the word, not habits, patterns maybe ?
I have noticed I am getting OCD about some things, I like my bed made a certain way, I sit in the exact same spot on the couch, I place all my daily items (wallet, keys, change) in a basket the minute I get home and remove it when dressed in the morning, I am getting very routine oriented

That's a good thing. I've found that as I've aged being routine oriented is a necessity. That way I don't forget or lose things. LOL
