View Full Version : Reoccurring problems with posting replies

I am regularly frustrated with what happens when I try to post a reply only to find out that I am told that I can't because I need to sign in, having apparently been kicked off during the time that I was typing my reply.

I wish this would stop happening! It occurs when I have typed a rather lengthy post. Then I hit Submit only to be told I can't do that and need to refresh the page and Sign in. I had already signed in! Apparently I got logged out, timed out, whatever, during the time I was typing my message.
The Auto save never has my entire message saved and I either have to give up or retype everything, during which time I may be logged out again. When I remember to, I copy my post so I can paste it and post it but I don't always remember to do that.

Anyone else having this issue? It is extremely frustrating!

When you log in, does the "Remember Me" box have a check in it? You should stay logged in if it is checked.

Anyone else having this issue?

This forum seems to work like most others. I haven't had a problem staying logged in.

I log in an out everytime I visit. On this site, I rarely have trouble with being logged out, but it can sometimes happen on any site, particularly if you're inactive for a period of time or take a long time to compose a post. This happens to me sometimes, because I tend to write lengthy posts, and put a lot of thought into them.

Here's something I've been doing to avoid that sinking feeling after writing and not being able to post it to a forum: When ready to post, I simply select all the text in the composition window and then copy it to my clipboard. I use hotkeys, so it's Ctrl-A, Ctrl-C and it's done. You can also use the Select All & Copy commands from the right mouse context window, but this is simpler/quicker. If you go to post your comment and find that it makes you login again, that's inconvenient, but not a total disaster. Just start a new response and paste your previously-written text into it with Ctrl-V or Paste, and you're ready to try posting again.

Yes. That's what I do when I remember to. Sometimes I forget to copy and paste though. I never use Remember Me for privacy reasons. I always clear my history after my excursions into the bi world, whether on this site or after viewing porn...etc.
