Well, if you want to know more about this, you can visit:

I've got this thing about Canada.
If I had enough money, I'd surely go there on vacation.

Why, because of the snow?
I love snow. I wish we'd have snow more often in the Netherlands.
I'm sorry about the fact that there are no "quotation boxes" around the quotes.
For some reason I can't make this function work.
I can't make a text bold or italic either, while I had no problems with any of this in the past.
Take care,
Dani

I think most of us like snow when its new and fresh... but after a few days it becomes nasty with mud from roads, urine and footprints. Those with very senstive eyes have a problem when outside and the sun is bright, the snow makes it even brighter you may as well be blind.
Its usually the COLD that people hate most about winter... some people get cold real easily no matter how warmly they are dressed.
Sometimes roads get really icy which is bad if you hate driving in those conditions but have to cause of errands, children or work.
Dani, if you give your address, we'll sent you our snow! :-)

Hi Tasha,
I agree that the slush we eventually end up with due to human- and well, let's be euphemistic about it and call them canine activities - isn't pretty, but fresh snow is incredibly beautiful.
Although I'm among those who need to wear sunglasses to protect their eyes from the light that's reflected off the snow, I'd be quite happy to receive your freshly fallen, clean snow ...as soon as I've invented a machine with which I can artificially lower the temperature in my back yard that is :)
I've read the Canadians tend to celebrate "Canadian" Thanksgiving in much the same way as the Americans celebrate theirs. ..stuffing themselves with turkey, etc..
Does this have anything to do with the Britain-loyalists who fled to Canada during and after the American war of Independence? Have they brought this custom with them to Canada, or is the turkey gobbling tradition ;) in Canada (and the USA) of a more recent date?
Now, I don't intend to turn this thread into a history class, but if anyone knows the URL to a website which has some info on this, it be grateful if you could post it here.
Thanks in advance!
Greetings from Dani, a non-turkey eating ovo-vegetarian.

I spent Saturday painting the baby's room bright freaking green (I'll post up a picture soon, it's an awesome colour... Similar to the colour of this fellow:  Only brighter and slightly more yellow. ) and then spent Sunday working, worked some more this morning, and then went to the big family turkey dinner. Yumm.... Still full from dinner, and that was six hours ago! Good times. ;)

Hey All,
Happy Belated Thankgiving to all my fellow Canadians !!
Happy Early Thanksgiving to all our our American Friends !!
As for the impending snow..... I agree with Tasha 100%. Pretty the first few days, then just gross slush. Driving in slush can get nerve wracking.

Dani... try shovelling it every day to get to work.
