Meeting people online is an absolute numbers game. Also a lot of people hide behind profiles, and really don't have the courage to actually meet. Your mileage may vary.

It seems most only get on these sites and apps to chatvwhen they horny to get off and then they are GONE! Most have no real intentions of meeting anyone.

I always guessed with stuff like Grindr that you should assume whoever you're talking to has a few conversations on the go at once, and will plump for the most attractive option at the right time. Same with more mainstream dating apps too, I think, certainly with women being able to be choosey with the various men chasing them.
