National Bisexuality Day is on Saturday, September 23rd. Anyone doing anything special to celebrate?

From Wikipedia:

Celebrate Bisexuality Day is observed on September 23 by members of the bisexual community and their allies.

This day is a call for bisexuals, their families, friends and allies to recognize and celebrate bisexuality, bisexual history, bisexual culture, bisexual community and the bisexual people in their lives.

First celebrated in 1999, Celebrate Bisexuality Day is the brainchild of three U.S. bisexual activists Wendy Curry, a bisexual activist from Maine, Michael Page a bisexual activist from Florida and Gigi Raven Wilbur a bisexual/transgender activist from Texas.

"Ever since the Stonewall rebellion, the gay and lesbian community has grown in strength and visibility. The bisexual community also has grown in strength but in many ways we are still invisible. I too have been conditioned by society to automatically label a couple walking hand in hand as either straight or gay, depending upon the perceived gender of each person," stated Ms. Wilbur.

The celebration of bisexuality in particular, as opposed to general LGBT events, was conceived as a response to the prejudice and marginalization of bisexuality by many people, both heterosexual and homosexual.

The day has grown in popularity and now a wide variety of annual celebrations take place throughout Canada the United States, Europe and Australia.

Thanks for the flag reply. I wil be doing what I do everyday. What about you? I mean realistically I wouldnt have a clue as to why, how, or what need to celebrate anything that day. I kind of feel like this is someones get rich scheme.

As with many of these events, it's difficult, if not impossible, to do anything when one isn't "out".........

Um... I'm with miamiuu. I'm not too much for holidays, and I'm not really sure how to celebrate this either.

My guess is that I will celebrate this occassion by downloading porn.

The Bisexual Connections group here at our GLCC in Ft. Lauderdale has had a get together out at a club or restaurant for the past few years. We are in the process of planning something now. I will post more information when available. We always choose someplace that has no cover and is bi friendly.

Anyone attending can eat or drink as much as they like or can afford. I can't speak for other groups but we just try and plan a night out to socialize with other bi people. The establishment we have the event at makes no more money off of us than they would any other customer that night.

It's times like this I REALLY wish i didn't live in BFE Melbourne, FL.

I'll probably be out, proud and loud :bipride: Prolly wear my "Bisexual Blues" T-shirt or one of my Bi-Angles T's and <gasp> go out in public!

Thanks for the heads-up. Maybe we can make it down to Lauderdale if that isn't the night we have "RENT" tickets.

Probably read some essays.
Maybe do a search for some bi porn since I've never seen any.
If I remember the date...

I didn't know the day existed, so thanks for the head's up! :flag3:

I'll do something to celebrate, even if it's only a private celebration with my bi hubby. There are no public events planned here in rural east TN, I'm sure

There's a bisexuality day? Man I am really out of the loop, first I learn we have a flag and now I learn we have our own day. Oh boy does that mean I get to go out and fuck as many people of both sexes I can between midnight and 11:59 pm?
