Went to a doctor for a consultation to have implants put in my penis so I can get hard again. Been a diabetic for 6 years and it has taken it's toll along with meds. Anyone else thought about or have gotten implants? Thoughts?

As a medical professional I know a little about implants. Keep in mind that once you have them there is no going back. You can get a new implant but can't do without one once the procedure is done.

Have you tried Viagra? I have Diabetes too, but Viagra does the trick for me. I am rock hard within an hour of taking 25Mg. I buy the 100 Mg pills (same price) and cut them in fours.

Tried Viagra and Cialis and although they worked (sort of), my insurance wouldn't continue the prescription.

I developed ED following a massive heart attack and quadruple bypass surgery. Tried Viagra and Cialis which turned out to be effective most of the time. Finally had to stop using them because I was prescribed nitrates to help heart (in combination it can cause life threatening drops in blood pressure).

Tried the shots for a while with good results. Takes a bit to get used to sticking a needle in your penis. I occasionally experienced some pain that I would classify as slight. Finally stopped when a needle broke off while injecting myself, had to apologize to the lady and made a quick trip to the ER for emergency surgery to remove the needle fragment.

Researched implants and 7 years ago had an implant with pump put in. I couldn't be happier with the result. A few pumps on the "third ball" in my ball sack and I can play as long as I like. I've often gone to clubs or swingers parties and kept a hardon for eight or more hours. Four Big Pluses: 1) no worries about drug interactions, 2) the money saved not having to continually go to the doctor to obtain renewals of prescriptions, 3) not getting hit with huge co-pays to fill them, and 4) Once the unit was fully broken in, I gained about an inch in girth. Fortunately, my medical coverage paid for the entire procedure.

Any downsides? Yes. Lost about an inch once the implant surgery was over. About half of that came back after about a year. Biggest downside is having the "third ball" which is a small, rectangular valve with a bulb attached. The bulb (pump) is OK, but the valve's construction is a hard material (about 1 1/2" x 3/4" x 3/4") that can be uncomfortable at times if you don't watch how you sit.

Overall, for me, the implant was a godsend. I wish I had done it five years earlier. Most of my playmates don't even notice it being there and I've never had a negative reaction from those who did.

Spend some time researching the implants and be sure it's what you want before proceeding.

Good luck.

Can you still cum? Does your penis head get larger when aroused since that really wouldn't have the implant? Good to hear it works. No need now in my life but always good to be educated on the matter. Thank you for sharing.

My uncle had an implant. But instead of having the "third testicle", the surgeon exchanged the pump for one of his testicles. He LOVED his implant. He could get hard whenever he wanted and stay hard as long as he wanted. The downside was some short term pain and discomfort following the surgery. Like bityme said, no pills, no side effects, no ongoing $$ for pills or injections.
