Manchester, UK, has announced a "retirement village" targeted at the LGBT community. The council say it won't be exclusively LGBT, probably as the laws on discrimination in the UK wouldn't allow them to make that be a rule, but that it will be majority LGBT.

Would you want to retire to an LGBT-friendly / heavily LGBT old folks' home?

Well this does sound like an interesting place to retire to...It would be an accepting environment , to say the least....Also you would be surrounded with incredibly creative types too ! :bibounce: :flag3: :flag1: :flag4: :color:
Thank you Bi - News for another article that will help the Bisexual community !

i don't know if i'd wanna retire somewhere where that is so much a focus. after all i'm much more than my sexuality. but, it is good there is somewhere lgbt people can go on being lgbt sexually tolerant not a big deal. plus might be a good place to hookup or more, if ur into older people :)

Where in 'upstate' NY are you? Binghampton, or Ogdensburg?

As someone who loves blowing old grandpas, I think I need to get a job there! :)

I agree with sysper. It may be a fine line between ghettoizing yourself and living a happy retirement.

I think that we all "self - segregate" ourselves to a certain degree...Now the LGBT community has a "more friendly" choice when it comes to retirement in the UK. Good for them !
