What Happened?

I have not logged on in a while, and things have changed. What is up with the chat feature? Has it gone from free to a paid service? I used to enjoy shooting the breeze with the people I met on here, but it would seem that those days are done. It would be a shame if that is the case, but there are other sites I suppose.

Whoever posts as "Drew" supposedly died, or gave up on this site. But they still pay the bills, and keep the hosting and site up and running, and still take cash from people foolish enough to pay for a membership on this site. :rolleyes:

Unfortunately, this site, which once was (past tense) a community, where people came together to offer support & advise, is now a playground for a bunch of trolls who post whatever they want, or as a medium for frustrated writers to get published.

The big thing rdy if you did not know it---Drew committed suicide like two years or so ago now. While the site is limping along, apparently someone somewhere is paying to "keep the lights on and the rent paid" because we are still here.

It does seem that the chat feature--that is long gone and is not coming back.

We have no one who is moderating the site, protecting it against trolls and periodic "attacks" by unscrupulous businesses who sometimes will inundate the site with posts that are nothing more than their adverts and solicitations.

Bummer that the site has gone down so far...but I guess it is ok that it is still here at all....

I agree. I miss my people on Chat. I've tried to reconnect with messaging and I've received no reply. Also email notification seems to have stopped. Damn shame

This site is the online equivalent of all those old, pre-Castro era American cars the Cubans drive---they are held together by whatever they can find or cobble together to make them continue to run! :tong:
