Today, Sunday Nov 15, I was in the chat - I was making conversation with Mike55Ga , he invited me to private. I thought we were getting on good. He asked me for a pic - I showed him a panty pic of me - I asked him for a pic - When I opened it - there was a list of nasty programs starting to down load on my puter. I closed the window, and told the room he was a hacker - I ignored him. I am very very sure Mike55Ga hacked the chat.

I did notice that in the last week when I came in the chat room--that my text--on two computers-one a MAC using Safari and the other a PC laptop using the new MS Edge browser---would do some odd things and we were having people getting booted a lot too----so things might have been getting unstable on its own and it could be that the guy you were talking to was not a hacker but that what you experienced was part of the chat room melting down again.
I don't know---I am just offering up a possible answer. All I know is--is that I was having my own issues with the site in the last week or so and am not surprised it went out again--we did have a nice long run this time--longer than in past times it was working--I just wished the situation was reversed--instead of the chat going down for a month or more at a time and the time it is up and running only being about a month--I wished that since it seems that the site is a now an orphan child----we would have more time with the chat running than being down.
Well--see you all in a few months or so when it comes back up again, HOPEFULLY--it comes back up again!!!

Ah, you know, the timing could not be worse, with the holiday season coming up!
I was so looking forward to our annual Christmas soiree! Both tending bar (I haven't worn that barmaid outfit in months!) and dancing with johnnyeasy. Also, getting in the chat room hot tub, when the snow starts to fly...one of life's simple pleasures.
It's just that cozy time of year for relaxing in chat with a hot toddy or cider...turn the lights down low, put the disco ball on slow-rotate, and explore novel prepositions with show until the cows come home and kick us out...or at least around and about.
But volty...until I better understand why/how chat has come back before, I will not get terribly hopeful of it coming back. But I'll offer a tendril of hope that you may be right. *hugs*

You make the chat sound a LOT more fun than it often is. But, then again, it usually is quite a bit more fun when you're in the room.
I have not had too many chats this last go around. The room was often empty when I went in, or nearly so. Until next time, peeps.

And now you know the secret to why chat is so much more fun when I'm there: *I* know how to work the lights and music, I know where the switch to the disco ball is, AND (most importantly) I have the key to the bar!!
But seriously, the leather sofas are SO much better than the grody old couch we used to have in the old chat room...that thing was getting manky.
When the room is empty, btw, the thing is perseverance. I've never had to wait more than a couple minutes before it starts to fill up.
(So I assume now people will begin the mass exodus back to MSC? It's like rats fleeing back and forth between two sinking ships!! )

XChat is an IRC chat program for both Linux and
Windows. It allows you to join multiple IRC channels (chat rooms) at the
same time, talk publicly, private one-on-one conversations etc. Even
file transfers are possible.
[ http://www.instantbird.com/ ] -
Instant messaging has never been
easier!
[ https://pidgin.im/ ] -
Pidgin is an easy to use and free chat client
used by millions. Connect to AIM, MSN, Yahoo, and more chat networks all
at once.
Supported chat networks:
AIM, Bonjour, Gadu-Gadu, Google Talk, Groupwise, ICQ, IRC, MSN, MXit,
SILC, SIMPLE, Sametime, XMPP, Yahoo!, Zephyr
These are all freely available to download and use. They are all Open
Source as far as I'm aware. This means you can change the programs to
suit yourself if you desire, and have a capacity to program. These are
also off site and do not require users to visit this or any site to use,
to talk with others.
The chat on the site here used Flash, which is a multi-media protocol
and programming. It also likely made use of Java. I did not delve into
it too deeply, did not chat much after the chat switched to all Flash.
At any given it was simply a 'front-end' for something akin to IRC. On
IRC (Internet Relay Chat) users can create their own channels (rooms),
or join ones already in progress. Rooms in IRC may also be secured via
passwords, be extremely private, public.
Often found 'chatting' to not be very chatting. Few actually chatted in
the 'open' of the room, if any at all. Most often you sat in the room
and figured everyone was chatting privately, at least I did. I do not
enjoy cyber sex as much as I once did, ergo not really 'into' that chat
wise. It seemed that was a majority of discussion others did want and
not being 'in the mood' often left gaping chasms of null and silence.
So, if no one is actually chatting, why chat?
And I have listed three feasible options above if you do want to
chat. There is also email. It may seem quaint to use email, though I
know the Thunderbird email client also now includes chat or instant
messaging protocols. This means you can 'chat' directly from your email
client/program without any of these others above. And email also lets
you expound, elucidate and communicate a bit more if needed. You can send
video, pictures, audio via email too. If nothing else send a link to a
Dropbox, Box, Google Drive, hosted file to a buddy.
Grow weary of seeing folks make such drama over chat being down on this
site. There's no need for either the drama, or the chat really. Other
alternatives exist and often are simpler, quicker, more secure. But hey,
I'm misanthropic at times, possibly such a time now.

Volty - I am completely sure that Mike55Ga is a hacker, I saw the list of programs he tried to put on my puter. 35 yrs ago, I was a Cerified Main Frame Operator, 2 ) Open Source is a very bad idea; It gives any user access to your puter. Stay away from that.

It is my belief that the owners/operators of My Secret Choice Hacked Bisexual.com, or had it done for them.

12 volt man or void? Not quite sure who you're writing to with this particular message. Thought you would have clarified. You didn't. So, I ask.

Void--I think that Pam was replying to me since I had said that I thought we were having other problems coming with the chat room. I have to accept that what he feels to be the case is a very real possibility that we had a hacker hit the site--no real surprise---without anyone seeming to run this site now----it is open to all kinds of negative things from hackers, to those posting up advertisements on the forum board and of course "trolls" having their way with the place and no one to stop any of that.
I am posting up this question here like I have elsewhere including its own thread----someone on one recent post in the past few days said that he had learned that Drew had died and that the site is up for sale.
I was wondering if we have any more information on that to verify that info or not. Does anyone know if this is true, did Drew die?
It would make sense if he did---I know that he had undergone some sort of event that had upset his life. I hope that he did not do what the owner of another site I used to be a member did late last year---commit suicide, with that site finally going dark about a month or so ago.
When it comes to people not chatting all that much in the main room in public--that was a bummer that so many people did remain silent when they came and that not all that many really availed themselves of the chat room this last time it was running.
When it comes to those other means of chatting--to me it is not the same as having a site like this to come to----the idea is to "meet" others and start to converse---with those other means of chatting--as I understand them----you would have had to meet someone by some other means and those only make it possible to have private chats.
I do miss the days that we had some lively, raucous chats in the main room here.

These sorry ass hackers get off on doing stuff like that. Wish there was a way to track them down.

Hackers often see themselves as self righteous soldiers of morality. They are quick to target porn, and any " queer " site. Much like the KK lyching people, and burning crosses for Go

Fair 12Volt, but you also know that not all "hackers" are evil malicious fools. Yes, I could see the possibility of someone cracking this site. The larger question and rationale for not think they have lies with a simple question. Who gains? I do not see any gain had in cracking this site. That is not saying someone does not gain. It says I do not see it is all.
I get tired of stupidity a lot. This contributes a lot to depression, frustration, anxiety. Could understand suicide seeming an option for some. Not saying Drew did, not saying he did not. It is clear we do not know. I'll accept not knowing any more than he died. He was a very good friend to all of us here. We owe him that respect, courtesy. He did not need to do anything. He did create a safe place for bisexual people to openly meet, talk.
Been doing a lot of accepting here recently. Finding as I grow older there is more I accept than not. Forgiveness is wonderful. Forgiveness is easily given. It is the forgetting at times which proves difficult. Seeing others stumble with it too. For me memories of Drew are the good kind, hard to hold onto those in memory. I will be vigilant to do so though. He was a special person. :)
Recall something my mom taught me as a young boy. "People die so other people can become, it's how Mother Nature makes sure everything stays equal." In hindsight the more I ponder life, everything ... my mom is a Gnostic, has to be. *chuckles* It was her that was my Sith mentor. *lol* The Gnostics in Japan were called geds it was a transliteration of the word phrase "to know", which is what Gnostism is about -- to know. Lucas added the present tense verbal form to it, and they became Jedi in Star Wars. When you follow the Light, all is Light, Light is All. :)
Drew brought Light here. :)
