June 29th, 2005 – Tucson, AZ will be the site of the 4th ANNUAL BISEXUAL MEN'S CONFERENCE scheduled for October 7th- 9th, 2005 at the Sheraton Tucson Hotel and Suites. This three-day weekend is hosted by the Bisexual Foundation, an organization founded in 1993 to educate the public about bisexuality.
Research shows that while a considerable number of people may be bisexual, there are few resources available to exchange information and/or to garner support for coping with life's issues as a bisexual person. According to Alexei Guren, Program Director for the 4th Annual Bi Men's Conference, there are even fewer resources focusing exclusively on issues specific to bisexual/bi-curious men. The Bisexual Foundation created this conference in 2000 expressly to allow bisexual/bi curious men to gather in a safe, supportive environment to dialogue on their issues of concern, including their feelings of invisibility and the societal pressures to remain closeted.
The 4th Annual Bi Men’s Conference will offer approximately 8-12 workshops/presentations, and at previous conferences these have covered themes like: Coming Out, Relationships, Spirituality, Identity and Health to mention a few. This weekend will also coincide with Tucson’s Outoberfest Celebration which attracted over 7000 participants last year and should make the 3 day Bi Men’s Conference weekend an even more memorable event. The past three conferences have been highly successful, drawing men of all ethnicities, races, and religions, and from all across the country for an informative and fun weekend. The Bisexual Foundation anticipates that attendance at this year's Conference will exceed past attendance significantly.
The October 7th-9th Bi Men’s Conference will include a welcome mixer/reception, complimentary breakfast daily, informative general session, workshops and presentations, buffet dinner Saturday evening and networking opportunities, as well as time to explore Tucson, and the surrounding Sonora Desert and mountain ranges.. Airline and special hotel rate will be available on the Bi Men’s Conference website.
