Carried over from the bike thread...

Okay, what kind of bicycles, if any do you own?

Are you a mtbr? Roadie? BMX'r? Freestyle?

Do you find your sexuality prevents you from enjoying your sport?

My bikes are as follows:
1991 Trek 2300 Pro (Climbing Bike)
2002 Specializied Sirrus (Performance Hybrid/Urban)
2004 Oryx 2200 (AL racing bike, Sh-105, Mavic wheelset)
2006 Norco CCR-Ultegra (Carbon racing bike, Sh-Ultegra, Ritchey wheelset)

I know more details than you can shake a stick at, but I double as a bike mech, so what can I say.

me & the ole lady own 1 a peice. hers is a basic 10 speed. mine is custom made from frankenstein parts lol that also enabled me to get the thing in my fav color....... still need to sit down one day & actually add brakes to it. it has been awesome whenever gas prices spike...

depends how crazy you are willing to go. You can obviously go to a full time trial(same as triathlon) bike, with bullhorns and aero bars. Most people usually opt for the less insane road bike with aero bar clip-ons.

If you want me to explain it better for you, let me know.

On average, the second style I talked about is less expensive.

My road bike is a Colnago C40. BUT part of that deal i can thank sponsors for. Now out of racing but it's a sweet ride.

For crappy weather, dirt roads, and cross, a Cannondale CAAD3 Cyclocross set up.

We got me an older Trek from a local guy who rebuilds bikes.

Now all I have to do is learn how to ride it. :(

Specificly 21 speed Trek 700 Multitrack one for each of us.

I know how to ride, once we get Maria on the bike we will be riding together.

Trek 520 touring bike for the road and an old Haro cross country mountain bike. My car is worth more from the roof rack up.

I mostly ride the trails, my road bike is probably feeling neglected abotu now.

I thought about doin triathalons back in the 80's then I thought about running a marathon, swimming a mile, and riding a century (100 mile ride) all in the same day, just seeme crazy to me (plus the fact that I cant's swim a mile, no lakes around here are that deep).

Just acquired a 2nd hand "Giant" Boulder FS - seems a nice compromise between mountain bike and road bike. Have been out three nights in a row (22k, 15k with hellish hill in the middle, and then 19k back from work tonight).

LOVING IT ! (but totally knackered now).

Nice to see people who enjoy cycling.

Been road riding for about a year here.

Road-Masi Vincere (on profile) :tong:
not much original left to it except frame, have upgraded wheels, handle bars, seat, crankset etc.

Off road - Trek Mtn Bike which has been sitting in the garage since I got the above.

My wet dream bike? A Felt F1c  anyone got 5 grand?

Actually I test rode it at the LBS couple of weeks ago. It was awesome. I don't remember whether the bottom bracket is offset. It's apparently this new thing to reduce frame twisting...

Oh how I love bicycle talk....more.....mmmm

I have a silver-framed, racing-style, 10-speed, 1975 Huffy that I bought from a garage sale for 5$ when I was seven years old. It's ten years older than I am. The tires won't stay full for more than three hours, the back brakes don't work, I can't switch gears unless I get off and move the chain with my hands, and then the chain falls off half of the time if I backpedal.

I love that bike and couldn't imagine getting rid of it. ;)

My wife has a retro-style Schwinn cruiser. It's awesome. :) If you really want, I can see if I can find the pics of it.

I have two bikes, a POS hybrid (useful for tooling around with the wife) and a Opus Scherzo that I bought in the spring. Unfortunately, with the wacky weather and even wackier schedule I've been living lately, I've only managed to get out twice this year. I think I'm going to have to start forcing other things to wait so I can get out on it. Seems very nice so far. :)

Oh yeah, the Scherzo is really nice looking, I have only seen the catalogs but it looks nice. I am not a big fan of the mix and match groupset though.

Cheers,

I have a Fuji Crosstown hybrid bike set up with 23 mm Michellin tires in place of the original ones which were far thicker that make it better for the road and paved bike trails--it can be set up with larger tires and run off road.

I like to take it out on some of the many miles of former railroad lines that were transformed in a statewide "rails to trails" program that will one day allow bike riders to pedal all over the state of Ohio from Lake Erie to the Ohio River without the need to use no more than very limited stretches of roadways with motor vehicle traffic.

I have been wanting one of the retro Schwinn's since they first came out! But I have a bike, so couldn't justify getting one. However, my husband was trying to fix my gears and replace my cables this weekend and broke my bike, so now I am hoping he can't fix it so I can get a new one! :) I am riding mine more to get places now that gas prices are so high. I have a little kid trailer attached to the back to haul my brood around in.
