The internet is very scary :-)

I did a search on ME lol then I found some "online phone books" such as 411.ca and other sites that searches for peoples emails, phone numbers, addresses!!!!

Now, how scary is that?? Whats creepier is some of those sites has maps pointing excatly where a person lives. :yikes2: and some people will even go as far as to pay to find background info (Could be a good thing? hehe)

I love the internet... I can't live without it..... but its scary.... at least being online is safer than being in a car with people that think they can drive!! :eek:

So folks... be careful not to say excatly where you live or your full name :)

yeah.
it's VERY easy to find info on almost anyone if you want to.
try doing a google search for your name or your friends' names or your email/their email.

Well, there's quite a bit that's out of your control. For example, your telephone service providers can decide to make the numbers of all its clients available online (through services like whitepages.com) and with your phone number, someone can easily find your street address and from that to anyone else living in that residence, etc.

And besides all the service providers that can legally provide your information on the web or to other businesses (telemarketers, junk mailers, etc.) some companies sell your info off illegally. That's usually your email addresses, online shipping preferences/history... It's not impossible to compile a complete history, including SS number and credit cards, for anyone even those who think they're not showing any information at all.

I have two web sites that can be used to find somebody here are both of them that I have http://www.reversephonedirectory.com/ and http://www.whitepages.com/10001/reverse_phone they both have worked for me to find people or cellphones.

my information is not as accesible as some other people, that may be because I have multiple mail addresses. Makes it harder to tell which is acctually me but this doesn't help those with uncommon names.
