A new word for my vocabulary. This fits me...romantically/emotionally interested in females but also physically/ sexually attracted to males. Surely I'm not the only one like this?

I feel this is applicable to myself. I couldn't see myself with a husband, no offense guys.

What at keeps me closeted as I couldn't do the gay lifestyle at all. I just prefer a friend that that I have sex with. Apples and oranges.

What however is "gay lifestyle" and who says it's a requisite? I don't really think theres a walk to walk or a talk to talk so to speak, just the simple attraction, easy.

The Urban dictionary states something different as to the meaning of heteroromantic.

"Attracted to the oppostite sex in a romantic way, but not necessarily in a sexual way. Often used by asexuals (http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=asexuals)."

http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=heteroromantic

As far as what you are if you are emotionally /romantically attracted to the opposite gender and sexually attracted to both genders is a bisexual. I don't think that they have sub categorized this but it may be separated in the future.

It's just another silly term for being bisexual; but closeted, or the people who use it want to try to hold onto their heterosexuality which never existed in the first place.

Hehehe (gear) ..

I guess I'm a genuine bisexual then because I have always wanted to love people, regardless of what is between their legs..and although I have more of a preference for men, there are a handful of ladies I am attracted to..I can't even tell you exactly what it is - and it isn't necessarily just because when you say "Hellooo" it echoes down cleavage canyon..

I've had enough experience with guys to know that the biggest turn on for me isn't necessarily a large penis, but a man who is affectionate (at least in private), honest, caring, loving and respectful.

The last woman that I truly loved was very beautiful, a bit older/dominant and in a crowd of 100 people could listen like you were the only person in the room..amazing..it's a shame that her first husband tried to kill her repeatedly but I think she's found someone else who is a much better fit in age and they have some good common interests so I'd rather she be genuinely happy.

Why "closeted" though?
Why can't it just be as simple as emotional for women but sexual for men?

Actually according to the Urban dictionary, heteroromantic has nothing to do with bisexuality. It is all about asexuality. NO sex is involved. The OP is bisexual though...and not heteroromantic.

Elian has always seemed like a sweet, idealistic romantic who is bisexual to me.

PeninAZ, People who run around accusing others of being in a closet frequently and other disruptive behaviour are probably gay biphobes trolling this site to create friction...

A variation on this I heard recently is hetero-amorous. It was used specifically to differentiate ones love interest from ones sexual interest. It was used on the Savage Lovecast in answer to a question about bisexuality. I like this term and I think it helps me clarify my own definition of who I am sexually. I consider myself to be bisexual but hetero-amorous.

Why the labels? Just simply ENJOY no matter your orientation! :love87:

Nope I'm not gay, or biphobic; but you did describe yourself perfectly.

Based on posts etc. that I have read there seems to be a number of bi people who agree with you. Others need a label to identify with. People who don't need/want a label have no need to "come out" either making the gay rule weak. The society of monosexuals does not quite seem comfortable with the no label concept. I've never read about a monosexual stating that they don't believe in labels but they probably exist.

Humans use a neural network, they HAVE to classify things in order to learn - it is the way we are wired.

At one time in our existence I am sure it worked really well. "Eeek, a spider, danger, run!" Now that we have more time to think things over sometimes that instant reaction actually hurts more than it helps.

correction darkeyes....and I was referring to someone else's comment. Some bisexuals resist labelling sexual attraction. I'm sure that you will be labelling a lot of things for the wee one once she /he gets here.. ;)

I'd customize that statement for me: I've had enough experience to know that the biggest turn-on for me isn't necessarily the largest penis, or breasts, but someone who is affectionate, honest, caring, loving, and respectful."

I feel the way Jack does, I label myself as hypersexual. All my romantic feelings are toward my wife, but there is 'sexual runoff'. Just having straight sex is too limiting for my voracious appetite.

I give some thought about this, I can´t stand have a relationship with a guy, mainly because I don´t want to explain to people that I´m having sex with another guy.

But I have a very nice experience with a friend. We both had girlfriends, and we hangout a lot, playing video games mostly. One day we´re at his home, just two of us, drunken as hell and out of the blue he grab me and start kissing.

To make a long history short, for two months I kind of move to his house, sleep over about 5 days a week, just in weekends I go to see my girl, it was very very nice, we´re making plans to put our girls in the business, and he suddenly start to fall in love. He dumped his girl, start talking about love, assume public our relation, and I totally freak out and disappear from his life.

So to kind of living with him was nice, but assume public, no way.
