View Full Version : Dating sites unaware of bisexuality?

I've noted that the largest dating sites, such as match.com, okcupid.com, plenty of fish, eharmonyetc. allow only choices between straight and gay. 2 options for men: Man seeking man or man seeking woman. I'd like to pick A and B, but that isn't an option. Has anyone ever contacted their customer service and asked why there is no bisexual option?

I thought okcupid had an option "man who likes both".

I would say that among the sites you listed---don't ever expect EHarmony.com to offer categories such as man seeking other men, woman seeking other women---because even though they don't say so in their ads---the owners of the site---and I guess that the "Doctor" that is the face of the site since it is said he started it---are evangelical Christians and as such----they are most likely against homosexuality and their mission is to make as many "good matches" of men and women so they get married, live a "good Christian life" and go populate the Earth as "the good book" commands. I don't know why they just don't let people know that is the case in their advertising---it does seem the ChristianMingle.com does very well and they are upfront that helping create such "good Godly marriages" is their main mission and purpose.

I have known of people who went to EHarmony.com and got rejected "for membership" because in their many questions they ask----and between what the people say about things spiritual/religious when asked to categorize this aspect---they did not fit whatever model EHarmony deems is fit and proper and some people on here in the past said that when they made it clear that they are bisexual or even just "bicurious," EHarmony rejected them as "a suitable candidate" for them to offer their service to.

It is kind of too bad though that the most of the "dating" sites that are gay/bi/lesbian ones---tend to focus only on the sexual aspects of people meeting and are not geared towards actually helping to facilitate more substantive "matches" among people.

Perhaps there are such sites that are of this type--but thus far I have not come across them. If anyone finds such a site or knows of one----I hope that they post up that information.

I think that sites like bicupid, adult friend finder and others of this sort----they are really more about just selling other sexually related things like videos, sex toys and such----and their "dating" aspect---is really about being a website for people to arrange sex hook ups.

Totally agree.

I heard eharmony was run by a Christian fundamentalist, so I'm not too surprised he's that way. He loses money on it by excluding people.

Several satanists that I know are quite enthusiastic about all the "fair game" they find on Christian Mingle and eHarmony.

They just love fuckin' those god-fearing types! LOL!

I certainly don't disagree with what you wrote about bibed, and how he's a user of people and human garbage. :2cents:

I have used the mainstream vanilla sites such as match.com and plenty of fish (pof.com) to meet women only. I have used bi/gay oriented mm sites such as squirt.org to meet bi and gay men. I have used other adult sites like adultfriendfinder.com and this site to meet women, men and couples. Several years ago, I took the time and went to all the trouble to create a profile on eHarmony to meet women or men. I got a rather curt and condescending email denying membership to me because I truthfully listed myself as bisexual and separated from my 2nd wife. It said something to the effect that eHarmony did not accept homosexual and bisexual people and would never condone married or separated people dating single, divorced or widowed people. It went on to say that at such time as I became legally divorced that I could reapply for membership. I was cool with it, as I respect almost any person's or group's religious/moral beliefs, although I might not endorse or embrace those beliefs myself. Satanists and Islamic terrorists or terrorists of any religion and militant atheists, however, are exceptions whom I utterly disdain and disrespect. I am a nondenominational, nonfundamentalist Christian. I'm also a non-cardcarrying, non-flagwaving, non-in-your-face, non-militant, non-LGBT advocate, so I wasn't offended or indignant at having been rejected based on my sexual orientation or marital status.

Not quite sure but for me it is Love. Other people just call it love though. Think we're all left to define God, god, in our own manner.
Some have currency, debt as god. Some bow to the God State. Some think God is pine cone. So many versions of an idea what
yet all agree on the basic stuff. Be moral, don't kill, don't steal, don't abuse and have no other God.

All in not sure I know anyone else's version of God, nor do I care to. No worries I'm not going leaping off no bridges. Still feel as
though I am strictly without God in the sense many believe in God. Yep, still non-conformist. The atheists don't want me because
I don't believe atheism is God either.

So, for me God is Love. Not sure that answers any questions, or not. Anyone can take it or leave it. No, I am not now a Christian, or anything ressembling religious. Simply saw all these God things going around and tried figuring out what you asked for myself. Still right back where I was to start, nowhere, everywhere.
