Does anyone think that acceptance among friend, family and society in general will ever treat guys who enjoy occasional bi fun the same as women? It seems that if women are bi, this is a big plus as far as a lot of men are concerned. On TV and in the movies, two women making out or lesbians sex scenes are cheered and applauded. But have to men doing the same thing and the word disgusting seems to be the norm in most cases. When you consider half the population are women and add to that gay men, bi men and transsexuals, you come up with probably 65% of the population sucks cock. I do not dare tell even my female friends that i enjoy sucking dick every so often. I would love to, but I won't.

I wish I was more upbeat...but I highly doubt it. Pseudo "cool and hip" and pushed by pop culture for the past 25 years or so. It's a monkey see, monkey do world. A friend of mine one told me "two girls kiss at a bar everyone cheers" & two men everyone runs...away. Social conditioning. I said it before over and over, lesbians aren't "gay" to most people. Only men are gay, that is what the common believe is. Bi women aren't gay in that mind set, so kissing having sex etc. isn't a threat to them. Only men are "gay" as told to me by a former friend. I had a friend years ago that worked at an adult store, they weren't allowed to call lesbian porn, lesbian porn...only girl/girl. To use the word lesbian was a threat to the male audience the owner told him. Sad but true, this I'm sorry won't change for many many more generations.

Eww, what man would want to be treated like a (..gasp..) woman !? Eeek, run away..that's disgusting.
..at least that's often what they think. But then again, there are some women who are just as turned on by watching two guys as men get turned on by watching two ladies. It's just like ancient Rome, all prim and proper up front, with a good rodgering 'round the back...
Newer generations of people are a lot more tolerant in some respects..although in places besides a big city two men kissing probably will likely cause a stir. Well okay, let's define "kissing" - bromance is all the rage right now so I suspect embracing or kissing on cheeks wouldn't cause a big stir. .. full on passionate kissing - you have a 50/50 chance of some people being downright shocked or indifferent, some people will actually say or do something and the third half will secretly be turned on by it.
If you're full on making out, then you have a 50/50 chance in public regardless of whether the couple is straight or not.
It might sound kind of crazy but if people, men particularly were more confident in their own self worth, maybe they wouldn't feel threatened..

Double standards exist. Sorry. Please don't feel mistreated or disrespected. It is merely a fact of life, double standards exist. They always have and likely always will regardless of what anyone does or says.
I compare this with children whinning, "no fair." I often ask in response, "compared to what, how other kids in say parts of Africa have no food?" If I feel whimsical I may remind them, "yeah, well there is no rain or parade either. Get used to it."
It is what it is, and will be. We can only try to react or act with a sense of grace and dignity. Barring such course from us, we can at least have a sense of humor about it. After all the biggest joke is none of us making it out alive.

It probably won't take that long. Maybe one generation. The 'family unit', a man, a woman, 2.5 kids and a dog, was a myth. This was a lifestyle pushed on a society pulling itself out of the iron age. We think there is a big difference between life in the 1950s vs today. Well, the difference between around 1900 and 1950 was unprecedented change. No longer was life based on day to day survival. We had a functional, growing society and a huge amount of pride. The glue that held all of this together was religion. Two or three full generations of people being conditioned to hate homosexual behavior. Religion hates homosexuals because of obvious reasons and based a lot of 'teachings' around instilling this attitude. Add the magical television and now society had a blueprint. All was well in the fantasy world. But human nature will always prevail. So here we are, religion is so convoluted that it has become useless as a control medium. All these free thinkers out there.
I grew up as a full on homophobe. I knew I was bi but it was surpressed as well as possible. Even today this attitude presents itself. I have a non sexual relationship with a gay guy. We just hang out. I have a tendency to get pissed and call the driver that cut me off a cock sucker. Now and then I refer to an activity as gay. These comments are reflex, I don't mean them in an anti gay way, but it's just there, part of me since I could talk. He rails me every time. "hey. I'm a cock sucker, I dont cut people off, what are you saying?"
With society in the state it is in, sexual orientation is a growing non issue. Slightly more pressing issues. ok, done rambling.

A refreshing change of topic for here :-)
I think friends and family at least have a chance of accepting us. My GF knows my feelings, but I wouldn't want to deal with some of my other friends and family, because every time I saw them I'd suffer through The Inquisition all over again. I know, after seeing a niece come out a few years ago.
Society is a different story, and we may feel some relief in the near future, but I hope it doesn't become something like enforced political correctness.
Anyway, here is a buzz feed video for guys: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G1v4ORpb1eA
And one for ladies: http://youtu.be/UWF82AoI-NI
They're both pretty funny; sad, but funny. Unless you've actually experienced this shit.

Yup I have mainly received negativity from most people when I'm openly bisexual... society in general see us as less masculine but not gay so we don't deserve the same considerations. Men are homophobic around us, women see us as being potentially cheaters and say they find the idea gross that we like men too even in most cases when they are also bi. Funnily enough I have read about studies in which women were studied using electronic sensors on their genitalia and when they watched gay and bisexual pornography the majority of them got aroused. However, because of social constraints most women won't admit they find men with men arousing... go figure lol...

we just gotta watch out for those homophobes who become even more homophobic as a reaction to the growing acceptance of nething outside of heterosexuality. they are scary.

You obviously were not around in the 70s or early 80s when being a bisexual male was perfectly acceptable, and it was also like this in the 90s and early 00s up until today.
You did write how you don't tell anyone that you're bisexual so that's the reason why you wouldn't know this.

It's becoming more acceptable, but may never reach the acceptance of lesbianism. I'm not telling even my closest straight friends I've become bi. At least one would probably avoid me, sadly.

Sadly, Human nature isn't very well accepted within society 'norms'. It's often deliberately fought against, and those who accept it are often condemned by the suppresses of.
Homosexuality struggled to get a place in societies 'norms', and are widely accepted these days. So if you come out as gay, you'll be treated with respect and welcomed into society with open arms.:)
Male bisexuality is still not accepted as a 'norm'. I'm out as bi, but am only welcomed and respected as gay. I 'come out' as bi every so often to the same people coz they don't have bisexuality in their list of 'norms', and want to welcome me as 'something'.lol
For bisexuality to get a place in society 'norms', we'd all have to come out. BUT, I really don't think that society is ready to accept Human nature and it would be fought against more than any other. IMO, that is coz bisexuality undermines the sanctity of monogamy.....another defiance of Human nature.
