Besides being bi, married, and total lack of sex? Well, we are in the process of trying to buy a new house. My credit rating is great so we did the pre-approval with my score. Got the pre-approval but when they started processing the real paperwork, it was noted they had checked no child support. Well, we corrected them on that so they said they had to rescore. ( I live in MA which has the highest rates of child support in the country and my ex works a part time job so her income doesn't even come into play, so full price) So they decide that we will do this with my wife's but she got dinged for a late payment on an account that she had paid off. Turns out that after she paid it, they added interest to the account to the tune of $2. She ignored the bill when it came in since she had paid it off, so they tacked on late fee and put it in her credit report. So her credit rating went down just enough to disqualify her. Can't contest or it will take over 30 days to clear and we have to have the commitment letter by the 12th. So here I am, I make good money, great credit rating, but because of child support it shows my expendable cash is too tight. Can't consider my wife's until they clear those issues. So we might lose this house. Meantime, my ex had gotten her mortgage, not based on her income, but based on that child support. Welcome to MA, the home of Dadfare. Now don't get me wrong.
