grins... I can't resist it... two of the most controversial subjects in the same thread.. :tong:

now I am not here to defend psychics as I do personally believe a lot of them are nothing but rip off artists and total scum of the earth

i am curious about people that are bisexual and have or beleive they have psychic gifting

I have always beleived that female intuition and the maternal instinct are forms of empathic and psychic gifting ( i understand psychic gifts as a extension of ourselves, like a heightened sensory range )

so I am curious, how many people have visited psychics or readers, do they know the psychics sexuality.... and do they feel that sexuality plays a part in the psychics abilities... ( you would have to assume that one.... as its hard to say if its true or not...unless like me.....you have worked with and evaluted a few 100 psychics )

I will post what I have found over my 16 years of studying sexuality and psychics....just not at the moment :tong:

My wife has had a few readings, one of them was just hours before we started dating. She swears that the woman knew who I was and how our evening would go without even meeting me. I kind of just take it with a grain of salt.

I did know a bisexual psychic for a while, and I don't believe for a second he had psychic powers. He was also one of the most unusual and annoying people I have ever met in my life.

I don't think sexuality plays *any* part in heightened perception or awareness. I feel that the reason women tend to have "female intuiton" is because we are programmed by our parents and society to be more empathic so we look for the body cues and facial expressions that indicate mood.

I also don't believe that empathy is a psychic gift. It's something that anyone can do if they pull themselves out of their own crap long enough to pay attention to the people around them.

That being said, I am also an Usui and Karuna Reiki Master. I have been working with various forms of energetic healing since I was 15. In that time I have seen and heard things that still amaze me. So I am well aware that the world extends beyond what we can see and hear with our limited physical senses.

What it all boils down to for me is that sexuality plays no part in what I have done in the past. Only my training has helped me have any typeofperception beyond the norm. That and the female line of our family repeutedly has the "gift". It's all in what you believe, I guess.

I've babbled enough now.

lol nods glantern.... its not that hard to * predict * the future in some areas.....I have seen it done many times lol... its when people provide me if info that there is no possible way, they could know, that i sit up and listen... and i know of about 18 psychics that have been able to do that.... all are free psychics

lol herbwoman, I am inclined to agree with most of what you said..... i have seen and heard things that science can't explain, logic can't explain and I am sure as hell, not even gonna bother trying to explain

I tend to beleive empathy is a enhanced natural ability.....but i am not sure at what point it becomes a long distance gift..... lol... i have a friend that is in the usa that rings me from time to time and she can accurately foretell my mood before she rings...( i challenged her to prove it using a diary over 2 weeks )... she is also a reiki master so I belive that plays a great part in it

I can usually tell ahead of time if I am about to get screwed, unfortunately it rarely applies to sex.

I believe there is more to the world than what we can see, measure, and understand. I have had too many things happen in my life to not believe in something.

I have never been to a psychic and think most of them are in it to take money from the gullible. I did however have a woman I had never met before offer to read my palm. She hit so many things dead on that it was scary. I was pregnant at the time and she told me I was going to have a child after the one I was carrying. I had been told that I couldn't and, at the time, we weren't even sure I would carry that baby to term. My doctor even told me following the delivery of my son not to expect to ever get pregnant again as it wouldn't happen.
I have two children now. The girl was right on everything she told me.

As Silvia Brown says. We're all psychic, its just not all of us are open to it :)

I Knew what I was having when I was pregnant, never had an ultrasound to tell me. But I got what I knew I was having boy girl boy girl in that order. I also predicted both of my sister in law's pregnancies, two cousins and a 2 co workers. Never wrong.

littlerayofsunshine...

that is the exact same with me...I knew early on in my pregnancies, without an ultrasound what i was having too....girl, boy, boy, girl...in that order...well, actually, between the 3rd and 4th pregnancies i lost a baby...boy...

i don't know how i knew...i just did...just like i knew i was pregnant way before the tests...it seems to be a matter of "listening" to yourself or something...if i was 'scared' i was pregnant i never was...if i knew...bingo...even with the last child, when due to medical reasons, it was considered impossible for me to become pregnant...

but, my mom and i can "hear" each other's thoughts sometimes too...made being a teenager a very difficult time for me...lol....and she didn't have that with any of her other kids...

I think there are more psychos then psychics although I wouldn't totally dismiss the possibility. I do believe in intuition and a heightened sense of awareness. Being able to predict something, maybe. I've had readings where the psychic had come close, but usually they were generalized things. I've never had one just knock my socks off with anything that couldn't have been explained though. I'm weary of ones that do readings for a living because if there truly is this gift, I don't think it's something you just tune into whenever you want on whomever you wish.

I also think it's funny that as I'm reading this thread every ad below was for psychics. lol

roflmao.... its cos most people don't understand how psychics work lol.... and you forgot the main one.... if they are so good... why haven't they won the lottery lol

well when they charge as much as sylivia brown, why do they need to win the lottery lol :tong: :tong: :tong:

seriously tho, most psychics can't foretell their own futures lol sure they can pick the warning signs that we can all do, using common sense... but i have never met the psychic that truely predicted their own future or mine for that matter....lol

however, in the psychics defence.... some of the best and most mind blowing readings i have had.... came from a palm reader and one I still admire, told me names and places and years...... and if i had truely listened to her at that stage, I would have avoided the worst most abusive relationship of my life
a relationship that came about 13 years after the reading and the reader named the person lol

Some of my own thoughts on the matter:

I believe that there are some real psychics out there. However, I think 95% of the real ones would never set up shop or charge you for it. Miss Cleo and some of the others are more than likely fake, but they do it because it's easy to get information from people and feed it back to them... and some people don't realize when they're being conned.

"HMMMMM I'm seeing someone close to you whose name begins with an L..."
(Well gosh, it's only one of the most commonly used letters in the alphabet. Way to play the odds.)

As for the comments 'Why can't the real ones predict things in their own lives?', for that I have a quote I like from a sci-fi short story. It wasn't used in this context, but I think it applies.

"Look at the forefinger on your right hand. It is much closer in distance to the elbow on that arm than it is to the shoulder. However, it is much easier for you to use that finger to touch your shoulder than it is to touch that elbow. Even though the elbow is closer, there is such a thing as being too close."

I saw an psychic with my sister in St Petes Beach, Flordia back in 2000.... the psychic seemed to be real to us, she had a sign at ther shop (which was her home but part was a little area for readings) she dressed like everyone else did, not some crazy clothing you see fake psychics wear. Her price was rather resonable. I had already told my sister NOT to say anything. So the psychic starts by telling about our past, she seemed right on the spot about certain things.
My sisters future was half right so far, lol
Mine I don't know yet but she said I would meet the right person when Im 30 years old and marry at 33 and have 2 children... she said i would have 3 relationships before then.
However, I don't think psychics are always on the spot with ages... she didn't know my age, she thought I was 19 when I was actually 21.... and I got married when I was 23 and theres no kids. :-) BUT my ex is the third relationship. I had a 2 bfs before whom I dumped lol

My sister wants to see this psychic again when we are in the St Petes Beach area in December and she plans on taking me along with her so it should be interesting to compare what she says lol cause I still have the notes I had written from the 2000 session!!! (then we'll know if she was for real or not hehe)
