Oy! Trying to find a decent Bi movie has been an adventure! Having grown up during the Golden Age of adult movies, when men looked like men and women looked like women, an actual story, etc...all I want is to find something smart, funny, and hot. Too much to ask? Why can't an industry that pumps out (pun intended!) tons of DVDs catering to every whim and fancy develop a good Bi genre that doesn't reek of bored players going through the motions? Recommendations are more than welcome, but even so perhaps we can develop a list of bi-friendly flicks. My thanks for your comments!

"Chasing Amy" I've recommended on here previously - strong on the whole bi-and-monogamous issue, and good in reflecting that some of us come to being bi from being lesbian or gay rather than from heterosexuality.

"Lost and Delirious" raises some of the issues in choosing to be out or hidden.

"Kissing Jessica Stein" OUGHT to be a good bi film being as it is about a notionally straight woman trying to have a relationship with another woman in sheer frustration at the state of the men around her. It doesn't cut the mustard on bi politics but you can read the film bisexually, and I suppose if you were trying to broach the issue of bisexuality to someone you weren't out to it would be a good, safe, mainstream film to use as a starting point.

"Go Fish" is 95% lesbian but has a really powerful scene about trying to draw boundaries between bi and gay.

I'm a bit useless on films about boys, sorry! When I think of more I'll come back to this thread.

One of my favorites is Crash (1996) and should not be confused with the one that won Best Picture in 2005. It stars James Spader and Holly Hunter. It's a very strange film, but is extremely erotic for a mainstream film.

Not sure if I would call this bi... but it is bi...ish

Zerophilia

It is a story about a guy that finds out that when he gets excited he changes gender... LOL it is a very funny movie...

And the best part is some very beautiful people, both guys and girls... in various stages of undress

Oh and it is not really porn, just a fun movie with no basis in reality LOL

It is a good movie, I enjoyed it.

I also liked Shortbus (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0367027/)

Which has a *bit* more graphic sex in it. LOL

Hello people! How is everyone? I'm a bit new to this site, but workin' my way towards bein' a known regular! hehe... Anyway, movies... Well, I wouldn't go so far as to label it a 'Bi' movie, but upon a friends recommendation, I just got done watching Sunshine Cleaning. Besides it being a good movie all together, I didn't realize until a little ways into it that it's filmed out here in Albuquerque. So that was kinda cool for me, to see parts of the city and be like, "Hey! I know where that's at!". It's a comedy with a serious story side to it. I suppose the only 'Bi' connection in it would be the main character's sister. For part of the movie she starts a relationship with a female phlebotomist. heh, I hope I spelled that right. I sure as hell did go to enough Dr's appointments when I was a kid. Blood tests, EEGs, EKGs, CAT scans, etc.... But, hey! At least it meant a day outta school and a 2-hour trip south to San Diego. And a day with my mom, that was always fun. Okay, I'm gonna end this here before I go n' get sidetracked.

Threesome ,And Kinsey are the ones in my collection not yet mentioned that deal specificly with bisexuality.

Also, there is Imagine me and you, which is about a woman who falls for the florist at her wedding. It dosent address her being bi directly but rather the chaos that insues( british comedy)

Not bi but trans is Breakfast on Pluto. It is kind of a tranny forest gump.

I don't know if it was really a "bisexual film"-or more of a lesbian one--but "Desert Hearts" was a flick I always liked.

Helen Shaver was pretty hot in her day--so was Patricia Charbonneau.

It was not a theatrical film, it was on Showtime--so maybe you did not see it Marie--but if ya did---what did you think of "A Soldier's Girl?"

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soldier's_Girl

This was based on an actual incident--I thought it was pretty well done and seemed to treat all sides fairly.

I rented it off netflicks. It was very good, but very sad. Calpernia was in a reality show on LOGO last year(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transamerican_Love_Story.) She is funny.

A more cheerful show - Beautiful Boxer (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beautiful_Boxer) One of the better trans films. Also based in fact.

A fictional movie I liked was Different For Girls (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Different_for_Girls) - which was realistic, but had a decent ending.

The problem with most trans films is that they are either completely off base(Trans-America, Breakfast On Pluto), or they are tragedies(Boys Dont Cry, The Gwen Araujo Story, A Soldiers Story.)

Not all of us end up murdered in a ditch, ya know?

Anyways that's my take on the whole trans movie scene :P

Many of the movies about bisexuals or straight guys who "go gay" tend to end with a great tragedy befalling the person who does such a thing---so Hollywood--for supposedly being so "liberal" and all seems to hold the notion that people who step off the line down the middle of the road "deserve" some sort of bad luck.
