thank you Miss Kitty for thinking of us. I received notes from my daughter and son-in-law both thanking me for serving. That got to me, tears in the eyes. Speaking of tears, I read an aricle today that the Doolittle Raiders were having their last reunion, with three of the four last survivors present. During my career I was fortunate to meet two of "Raiders". That one brought a few tears also. Thanks again Miss Kitty.

Thank you, Wonderful Cat. And I send you all the healing energy I can--please get better quick, and be the healthy Kitty we all love so much.

And thanks, Chicagom, I can never see that video without bawling like a baby. Going to sea all those years taught me a lot about separations and homecomings. It's tough enough when there isn't anybody shooting at you or trying to blow you up

And to all veterans, but especially those of you who've just come back from Iraq and/or Afghanistan, welcome home. Thank you for going in harm's way on our behalf. One this day that commemorates the end of the "War To End All Wars," we honor you and thank you for your service. I only wish we could have made it stick.

(Cinfidel AKA: The 12voltman) I attended a small, but nice service honoring vets in Cincinnati yesterday. It was put on a by a chapter of Vietnam Veteran's of America. It was their 29th year putting the event on. It was held in part of an historic Cincinnati park, Eden Park where they have set up a memorial for vets of various wars and conflicts--mostly for Vietnam though.

The weather was pretty nice---it was relatively warm--in the upper 50s and lower 60s--which was the calm before some snow came in later yesterday evening. The section of the park is set against a hill full of trees that still have their leaves in red and gold. A nice setting for such an event and memorial.

It was an honor to be able to take part in the ceremony with vets that come from all eras including WWII, Korea, Vietnam and current active duty service members. It was also good to get acknowledged, saluted and thanked by them for the time I spent serving in uniform. I haven't often gotten that--but it does feel good to get such attention--I have to say.

Thank you to all my fellow vets who did their duty and served their countries, no matter which country you might be from.
