Would you date a man that insists that there will be NO SEX on the first date?
(lesbians and bi males not emotionally attracted to males not counted. No offense!)

Why is that then?

Sure. If I thought he was interesting and we had a connection, I'd do that. I don't think it always has to be about sex... but, then again, I'd probably want to do a little something on the 2nd date.

Well obviously I'm straight and I said I would date a man that insists on no sex on the first date. Why? Because it sounds like he was more interested in getting to know ME the person rather than ME the sex toy. Honestly, wish there were more men like that.

I'm with you on that there DD, even tho what Fran says is true too. At least there'd be one date that had enough difference from a sex hookup to make it a proper date.:)

I'm a bisexual man and I would, and have. It's not a big deal. I've been around women and men who just want to hook up or have sex on the first date and it's a major turn off.

Yes, I would if they were also clearly sexually attracted. I tried once to meet a guy with sex ruled out, but it didn't work--guess I'm kind of a slut

A tough question, say meeting in person in a public place is the first date, then going somewhere to @$%# each other is the second date.....

Now if it was GearBox I'd jump him in a heartbeat, faster than a speeding bullet!!!!
Otherwise the second date is ok!

I'd still date him. I actually want to hold out on sex until somewhere around a few months, see if this person has STAYING POWER. I don't wanna fuck somebody whom the relationship won't last for even a month.

Gearbox,
I will not do the poll.
Every situation is different. You are having fun with 'blanket rules'.
C'est la vie.
There are no rules.
If you're looking for fun... look for fun
If you've been deeply long term emotionally damaged ... close that scope of what you're open to.
If the other party has been deeply long term emotionally damaged... you will suffer... until you leave (or the 10,000 to one chance that this person emotionally grows in a positive fashion you want him/her to).
If you and/or the other party are to any of infinite degree emotionally insecure... every codependent nightmare is at your beck and calling.

If you want to make love with someone who wants to make love to you... and you both feel a strong feeling of love that means "no harm"... then clearly...

Best wishes,
Blue

I'm not sure what you mean, but I think there is a kind of insecurity involved with pushing sex out of the first date. In my case, I put up that rule to ensure that it is 'me' that is on the date and not just my body, cock or the sexual side of 'me'. That side of me is pretty important to 'get to know', but in my experience it can easily overshadow the non-sexual side where men are concerned. It also gives me a chance to get to know them on a non-sexual level too, and also clarifies that it's not a fuckbud audition.

Am experimenting with it, as it's worth a shot.

You've got a good point there lovely lady! Nothing more erotic than a bit of a grope is there? And those few buttons getting unbuttoned, and zips getting unzipped can drive a girl/boy to sheer sexual frenzy far better than getting nuddy in 2secs. Oh I remember the days when seduction lasted longer than a cup of tea.lol
Not many Swansea girls could remain 'nice' when there's a horny Scottish lass elbow deep in her blouse, I betcha. Oh the poor girl! Prob didn't see what was coming, due to her sheltered Welsh upbringing.
I'll have to watch out for my virtue in my yashmac, just in case a tent gives the wrong impression.lol

While I wouldn't want sex on the first date, I'd think anyone who comes out and says it is trying to be too controlling about sex.

Similar to a guy who insists on sex on the first date.
