As most of us have watched porn, I have wondered to what degree it has influenced our sexuality, especially those of us who are bicurious. I sometimes wonder how much pornography has led to a heightened interest in engaging in bisexual activity. This isnt to suggest that it caused it, but to what degree it has influenced the desire to pursue it in real life.

For me, I initially only viewed straight pornography growing up (playboy, etc), but as Ive gotten older, and more so within the last couple of years, Ive taken an interest in bi/gay porn as well. I wonder how much/whether this is due to the desire to seek out new types of porn, or whether it is unmasking bisexuality. What do you all think?

As for porn influencing whether I would be bi or not, it isn't/wasn't the case. My first stirrings were actually when I was a young boy with other boys my age...and then the girl interest came along just a few short years later. My interests stayed with both sexes and I understand how this question might apply to influencing the behavior of those who were/are curious.

If anything, porn allowed and allows me to expand my horizons with possibilities and to fuel the desire to want to try things that I might not have. One of the biggest influences was with anal sex. When I was younger, I watched only straight porn because it was the only type of porn that was available for me at first. And it wasn't very often in the 70's and 80's that you'd see it; not nearly as often as now. There was a gradual increase in it during the 90's which accelerated. The more I saw women engaging in anal, the more I wondered about it. Since I'd taken such a negative stance to anal, it made me curious as to why so many women were now indulging in anal sex in porn. They couldn't be doing it just for a paycheck...well, they could, but certainly not all of them. And I know about the increase in pay if they'll do anal too. But it is a fact that many of them enjoy it also.

Anal isn't all there is of course...I'd have to say that seeing 3ways, 4ways, moreways, and group sex all had an influence on me to want to try it myself. And those group situations whether straight, bi, or gay I was interested in; but I wanted to see more bi group porn which was very rare....

I think what's great about some porn is that it can help to nurture and fuel the desire to want to try things other than the usual. No doubt, porn has helped to demonstrate that there's more to sex than the missionary position that some people would have had us believe is all that is possible or the lie that it's the only position necessary...we're beyond just wanting to make babies...and porn has helped to expand and support these pleasures. It can be argued (and should be) that porn can be sloppy, benefits only certain people who control the industry, and can and does exploit women to benefit only certain people...this element is part of it too. But I would prefer to consider the positive rather than the negative; not to ignore the negative but not to lose the positive affect porn can have by focusing only on the negative....

Later on when I finally did see gay porn, it absolutely turned me on. And during the time that I was in denial about being bi, seeing gay porn fueled my hunger for male sex even more. I was seeking out bi porn during those years too but at that time the quaity of bi porn was awful...some was okay. Usually if Sharon Kane was involved, it was decent bi porn. But even some of her films were dull...Anyhow, though I was bi and had been all along but in denial, seeing bi porn or gay porn didn't convince me that it was okay...when I finally reached the conclusion within myself that it was okay to be bisexual, then everything opened up and then I enjoyed good bi and gay porn all the more.

I agree. Gay porn did not make me bi-curious. That started in my early 20's. Because I was bc, I bought some gay porn. The internet provided me with porn of all types.
