how many times do you masturbate? I'm wondering whats a normal amount. My bi husband says he does it about 10 times a week. This seems a lot to me

I find it varies for me personally, but my partner was using porn and masturbating a lot, to the point that he was having to 'schedule' me in due to exhaustion. I have a high sex drive and it was leaving me high and dry, so you can imagine I wasn't too happy when I realised the reason. Adjustments have been made and the result has been that I masturbate much less, because we're having more sex, so I think that there isn't a normal amount, only an average, and your personal normal can fall anywhere on that spectrum. Perhaps the definition should be, does it negatively affect your sex life, and that of your partner? For many people less more equals less masturbation, which seems to me a normal way to meet a need, but for others it can work in reverse which isn't so healthy when regular, hot sex is on the menu.

I try to masturbate once a day, although I have to admit I enjoy it more if I take a day or two off between. Better orgasms that way. That's at 57 years old.

As far as how often is too much. Hard to say. I'd suggest it depends on the person's sex drive. I'm sure I probably jacked off 10 times or more a week at times back when I was in my 20s, situation permitting.

Masturbation among males is probably a lot more often than you might think. A lot depends upon the age of the male. Most males start masturbating at puberty (usually around the age of 12) and continue through later years (i.e. 70 and beyond). The frequency would diminish with age. You may want to do a Google search of "How often do males of age (insert age) masturbate"? From personal experience I can tell you that I masturbated at least 10 times a week between the ages of 20-40...even when I was married (i.e and had sex about 3 times a week with my wife).

Masturbating is normal. If you do it 24/7 that may a bit excessive, and you need to get a life. I agree. I have in the past masturbated up to 10 times a week and this did negatively impact my sex life with my wife. I was using masturbation as my primary sexual outlet and sex with my wife became somewhat secondary. My wife felt that I would rather masturbate than have sex with her which did not make her feel particularly attractive. This caused a downward spiral in our sex life.

I have since moderated my masturbation such that there is a better balance between the two ie 2-3 times a week. Our sex life is much better as a result.

I may be older than most here so my answer probably isn't the usual.

If I have sex with my wife 2x per week, I may masturbate 2x on my own. If sex is 1x per week, I may masturbate 6x per week. The sexual relief I get from "real" sex is far greater than from masturbation.

Depends on how horny I am. For me, I have a bit of an issue with getting aroused by myself nowadays.
