She was from Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, Canada. I'm surprised that people knew her in Australia. Very much loved.

Yes, she had a big hit here with Working Man, and sold a lot of cd's, I have two.
She is a bit like Susan Boyle, both amazing voices.
