Annette Funicello died this last week at age 70. Members of my generation remember her in her teen years in "The Mickey Mouse Club Show". I felt very sad when I heard of her death. With her dark eyes and dark hair, she was so beautiful. She was a star of that show, Maybe because of her, I am still infatuated by women with dark hair and dark eyes. Now, I feel sad again.

Yep, she was a cutie!
After one of those bikini beach movies, a buddy started calling her Annette Funny-jello......because of her voluptuousness in a bikini!
She was the epitome of a "good girl", back in the day, with just enough sensuality to cause many young guys (and some girls) dream of her.

Within the past two or three months, there was a Canadian tele journalism show (W5) that told her story. What some people from the States may not recall is that Annette had MS. During her last few years, she had lost the ability to speak and then walk. She had 24 hour care and the show showed her husband lovingly caring for her. They showed early footage of her as a child star. They showed her as a teen star and talked about how she decided to leave movies to raise a family. She returned later and her husband said that it was in yet another movie where she became aware that there was something wrong with her ability to move. She thought that it was just the sand though. She didn't look very nice in this journalism show though. Her mouth was open and there was no movement. Still, her husband said that he knew that this is what she wanted as a means of promoting further studies of MS. She was quite the advocate for research and she tried every new technique her doctor said.
Even a fellow child star was in this show. Shelly Fabre spoke about how Annette would want this late in life publicity. Sad that her later years dealt with so much suffering as she was not able to speak, walk or even move her arms but the disease didn't impact her mind. I think that they said that even blinking as a means of communcating ended. She just could stare. She was in there though her husband said. He spoke directly to her about what he was going to do(brush her hair, morning greeting etc.)
As I understand it Realist, it was her early breast development in the Mickey Mouse Club that drew the lust attention of young boys...lol She idolized Walt Disney as a mentor according to her husband. Even after Disney died and she had a problem, she would say Now if only Uncle Walt was here, he'd know what to do.
RIP

I loved her when I was around 4-6, I did like those big breasts. She showed remarkable courage during her life.

I hadn't been on all that much in recent days--so I missed this thread----once again--her passing just shows that "the torch is being passed" to a new generation--for good or ill. May she rest in peace--I always did like her myself.
