A couple of us have been talking and we've decided to put up or shut up and to challenge the rest of you to do so, as well.
We think it would be fun to have a bisex family reunion somewhere. Nothing overtly expensive or time consuming, just an afternoon where we could get together and put faces with names, etc, possibly a cookout or covered dish dinner. To be clear, this would NOT be an excuse to get together and have a big sex fest, orgy or circle jerk. If someone wanted to get together or make plans to do so later, that would be fine, but the family reunion would just be that--a time to take the sense of community a step further.
We realize that we are spread all over the world, so one thought was to arrrange to have "reunions" at the same time in several places; maybe with some webcam hook ups so we could give it a world wide party feel. Some suggested cities have been Philly, DC, Chicago and Atlanta, even London, but that may preclude people on the West Coast and those in Aust/NZ and other countries. We would also like to find a way to make it as inexpensive as possible, and also easy for those that need to "sneak away" and/or make an excuse to their families.
This would be a safe family oriented time that you could feel free to bring the family if you wished, yes spouses and kids, or just yourself. There are so many of us that have become family, it would be so much fun to actually get together. AND, there are so many that would like to meet others but don't no how and this would be a chance to do so in a non-pressured way.
So, what do you think?

Sounds great! I was just thinking the same thing yesterday. I guess great minds think alike  I believe the above scenario would be the best way to attempt such a thing. Some other possible locations I can think of: St Louis, Minneapolis, Dallas/Houston/San Antonio, El Paso, Denver, Las Vegas, San Diego, San Francisco Area, Portland/Seattle. I'm sure there are other good locations. This could take awhile to plan, but I think it is a great idea - Dave

I think it's a great idea! I'd suggest picking a cities where organizers live, rather than trying to put together something long-distance.
There are obviously some logistics to work out, and it won't be possible for every single person who'd like to attend to do so, but that shouldn't make it impossible.

I'm willing to fly the family to New Zealand even!
My only problem with that would be trying to drag my husband away from Sydney along the way.
Money and distance are not a problem for me, but sceduling is. :( Both sets of grandparents compete and schedule our vacations months in advance. Give me enough time to have a date for this in place before the grandparents come up with something, and we can keep the date open.

Maybe i misses it but what time of year. This could be critical to the location. Summer time might be too hot and it will be cold in winter.
I would like to moniate Menphis it seems to somewhat central. St. Louis might be good also.

Well, I think the eleven hours to Memphis and the 12 hours to St. Louis would be too much of a trip for me. I was thinking Atlanta would be a good central location for Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, Mississippi, Alabama, Tennessee, Kentucky, and West Virginia. Pretty much less than ten hours all the way around. Then, maybe another in Toronto? That should cover the entire east coast, I think.

Count US in.....
No matter where or when...Bill and I will be there. If I would drive four hours in the pouring rain to bring soup and flowers to a friend, I would drive for days to meet those of you I have not met. And Dan if you have the beef, then can I share the one you have? Memphis accent is enough to make me plan the trip now.

a family reunion sounds excellent; as a very new neighbor in the community, it would be nice to put the "...faces to the names..." the multi-sites sounds the most practical. the only thing i ask is if at least one west coast site be established; it is not practical for me to be gone for lengthy periods, so i stay within a certain radius of my home city, as determined by my schedule. :bibounce:

Did someone mention St. Louis??? I'm SOOO in. Frankly, I'd travel quite a distance to meet my beloved friends on this site who have been the best in the world as far as I'm concerned! Chicago would be possible, as well. Fund me to go to London or NZ and you have a friend for life!!! J/K!!! Oh yeah, can someone make me a chicken Kabob and some corn on the cob?
Okay, I'm gonna make like a tree and leaf...
luv and kisses,

I think Flounder and I really do need a vacation and it would nice to meet in person the one's we love so much on this site. I'm all for somewhere in the south where it's warm and warmer..lol. Really anything that will get me out the stinking midwest for a bit.
Sounds like a great idea!!! :)
