Hello, just wanted to post introducing myself. I am a 29 year old bi woman living in the mid-west United States. For now I just want to say hello and introduce myself. Been struggling and need somewhere to vent. A wave of emotions, forced religion, and sexuality has clouded my life and judgement and I am ready to tell my story on this forum. Hope to get to know you guys...TTYL.
In the meantime some of my favorite things:
I love Asian cusine.
I like to read and write.
I love watching the sunset during the magic hour.
I am agnostic.
I am currently in school for human services.
I listen to all types of music, classic, contemporary, pop, rap, rock, jazz, etc.
I am single at the moment, childless, and openly bisexual with most of my family and friends, although they are not cool with it. I liked woman more then men, but my hetrosexuality is starting to become more important then my homosexuality since the lesbian thing is not as easy as I thought it was gonna be. Most women will not give me the time or day:(. Besides I do not feel like I have a future with a woman. (I will explain in later post). Okay, well I will post more in a few days, hope to chat it up with you guys.

I like Asian food too but I my favorite food is potato salad. I love Soul Food, Asian, Carribean food, American food--I just like to eat.
I love to read and write as well! I write my own poetry and sometimes I do blogs on my facebook or what not. And right now I am reading The Narrows by Ann Petry.
I am an atheist
I graduated from college in May last year.
I like all types of music also and I have recently really gotten into Pandora because they have just about EVERYONE you can think of on there.
My family, for the most part, is not cool with my being bisexual either. I really donot talk to them much as they dont get who I really am as a person. They are a very abusive type of family-verbally physically sexually and mentally. I would rather not have that drama in my life. My mothers side of the family is very religious. I am in a relationship with a guy who I love very much and we plan on being together until we get old and gray. I lean toward being polyamorous. I have not dated many women....

Welcome BG!
You've found a good place to vent, explore, share, and maybe meet great friends, too.
I hope you find the site interesting and a place to grow.

What's up blackgirl1983. This is my first post. I'm mixed and have a black father. Like my name says I'm pretty uncertain about my sexuality. But if I knew for sure that I was bisexual I probably wouldn't tell my dad. My dad lives in the United States (I live in Germany) and I don't have much contact with him, so maybe there would be no need to tell him. Our relationship is bad anyways.
I think I once watched an episode of MTV True Life where a black woman told her mother she was a lesbian or bisexual and the mother attacked her with a freakin knife! I think it's a lot more complicated for black people to come out than it is for white people. Do you agree?
Greetings

UncertainOne86, I have to agree. I think there is a stigma with being gay or bisexual with all races, but I think since most black people have conservative beliefs, and most are Christians, they have a tendency to not like those things, but I think that people of all races are not cool with the same sex attraction thing.
Greetings to you also. I love Germany and German culture in general. I'll send you a PM IM also.

Yes I pretty much agree with you, but I still think that the african-american culture is less tolerant towards homo- and bisexuality than other races. It's just the impression I have.
I'm looking forward to your PM! :-)

UncertainOne86...In Africa they are very intolerant, they still kill gay and bi people over there (never have been but I know most Africans are very intolerant of homosexuality, especially gay men). Its horrible. I watched a documentary on LGBT people in Africa, and I would NOT want to be bisexual over there. Very happy to be in the western world. I dont understand how people can be so hateful. They actually think that LGBT people eat poo poo over there. I actually really think that black people in the united states are starting to come around. <----- Again, that's just my personal opinion.:2cents:
I know this video is kinda funny but sad @ the same time... but I thought I would post it:

Yes I know. Being against gays and bi's seems to be the norm over there. I saw a report where a newspaper listed something like the 100 most famous gay people of the country with the intent that other people hate on them.
As far as being happy to live in the western world, I almost wrote something similar in my blog. I wanted to write that even though I don't know if I'm 100% bi yet, I'm happy to live in a country where I can explore my sexuality freely. At least that's what the law states. We all know that the reality can be quite different.

Welcome blackgirl, shaun, and uncertain. This is a great community to vent in and get advice from people. Cat is a great example of that.
blackgirl, you seem like a well-rounded person. Wide variety of interests. Goal oriented. Determined. I find it rather unfair that the people who most have their s ... stuff together have the hardest time finding someone to love them, while all of the scoflaws and miscreants seem to have no difficulty. Is it possible you were looking too hard?
Again, welcome to all 3 of you.

Asian cuisine is good. Being in school is good. Reading and writing is good. Being bi is good. Need I go on?
Welcome to the forums.
Btw, I'd have to agree with the observation that African-American gays, lesbians, and bi's have it pretty tough. The handful that I've known personally were almost all ostracized from family and friends. I won't go into why this is, nor do I pretend to know. I just know that some of them were very lonely people and it really bothered me that they were shunned by their own communities.
Anyways, once again, welcome to the site. Looking forward to reading more.

Welcome Blackgirl1983. I was a "lesbian" for sometime as well. I like you also like women more than men, but seem to not have much luck with women. Being a lesbian was hard, but being an out bisexual is not always easy either as I am sure that you are aware of. I am married. My husband is also bisexual and he is also a member on here. We have a male lover and I currently also have a girlfriend but she lives far away so I do not get to see her often. I have been out in some form or another since I was 16 (I am 37 now). My family does not seem to mind to much they pretty much see my life as mine and that they really have no business in telling me how to live. I feel very lucky about that. I hope that you find the support and community you are looking for here.
