Not about bisexuality, but still an interesting occurrence.

It seems possible. It would depend upon what section of the brain that his stroke occurred. The brain is a very complex organ.
Here is part of the results of another study examining sections of the brain and sexual preference
"The researchers conclude that these "pheromone-like stimuli" produce different responses in the anterior hypothalamus of women of different sexual orientations, and that their research supports the idea that the anterior hypothalamus plays a role in sexual preference.
The pattern of activity in the brains of lesbians for both chemicals was similar - though not identical - to the pattern for heterosexual men. In May 2005, the same team showed that the brains of heterosexual women and homosexual men reacted in the same ways when they smelled either AND or EST."

guess he had to blame it on something. why is it that humans see a need to blame something or someone else for their actions. the guy is gay, maybe after being close to death he realized he should live life the way he wants and dump society's baggage but had to have an excuse for not comming out before. on the other hand if it was a chemical imbalance in the brain brought on by the seizure that turned him gay, then that opens the door for straight, overzealous and religious people to want to help the poor misfortuned people suffering from this disorder by forcing treatment on them so they will not be sinners as seen in the eyes of society by practicing what they percieve as unnatural sexual acts. this is a scary topic with even scarier outcome. i can already see someone picking up on this to help mankind over come the sickness of sexual misconduct with same sex partners, here we go again with the preventiive state and the do gooders lol:rolleyes:

I see your point Pan. It is possible that radical religious people may take that approach. However, all things about us may be contextualized biologically. Why do certain people like the taste of certain foods while others do not like that taste? Why may our taste for certain foods change as we mature? It may be explained scientifically.
Bigotry will exist whether the scientific facts/rationale are there or not. The argument is not how a person's sexuality may be explained but why a belief should be accepted. Radical religious people will argue regardless. There is already some scientific evidence in comparing brain reaction. Bisexuals and other non heteros need to contextualize variances in sexual preferences as natural and should be socially accepted just as much as taste and olifactory "likes" may vary.
Stating that something is right or wrong morally based upon religious beliefs has no basis in science. The bigots can not prove their belief other than to fall back on religion and a desire to impose their beliefs on others. Insuring that a society is not a theocracy becomes extremely important. Stating that a country is the land of the free must be backed up with constitutional guarantees. A religious group may not impose their will on others in a democracy. Their "rights" end at their nose theory needs to be encouraged.

this is all true tenni but the sad fact remains that people are driven by their religious beliefs. if one is a law maker, scientist, whatever and someone comes to them with the idea that there is treatment for something that they see as a sin against their god and man, they will want to do what they believe is right with their god to please him. they will make the law to rid mankind of this religious abomination and plague that is against god and society. as i stated earlier in one post, what ever happened to the seperation of church and state. this cant be done when laws are written to support morals driven by religious beliefs. and as we all know most are. i see something like this possible in the future as it takes time to brainwash a large portion of the populace into the belief that it's for the better of the childern and society in general if this behaviour disapeared all together. here again the preventive state takes over and want to prevent before it even happens giving the child the treatment even before their sexuality is determined just in case. in my life i have never seen so much law put into action over things to prevent crime even to the point of circumventing the constitution and taking peoples rights and still the crimes happen. so why would one think they wouldent do it when this type is religious insanity infects our governments.

I'm more interested in why and how he seems to be expressing himself with a 'super gay' hairstyle and dress sense.
NOT that I'm mocking that! But it is interesting how he adopted a stereotypical gay image. It's obviously not just because he likes cock and has gone off vagina (I think). It would be interesting to hear that side of the story from him, how he deals with being gay and what it means to him etc.

I would suspect that if it ever becomes law that a person must take a "cure" that they do not wish to take, that you no longer live in a free society. I can see pressure but not forcing a person to do so. Understanding how some biological process works is not the same as researching and finding some process to change a person. There are bio ethics that the scientific community work under.

Invite him over for a cuppa to find out the answers. He is one of your people after all. Nice accent on him. Is that a gay sounding Welsh accent or just the usual accent? (kid'n) :)

Judging by his accent, he lives pretty close to me (too young for me though!lol). That's what interested me about him, that he doesn't sound or acts camp, but dresses for the part. I'd love a tea&chat with him to discus that, if I could be tactful enough not to offend.:suave:
On chemical patterns though...... it's rumoured that the adding of bromide into soldiers and prisoners tea was used to lower sexual urges. If true, then there's already been 'mass' manipulation in a way. There are also rumours about fluoride in water supplies and toothpaste being a 'control' device. Conspiracy corner!Yay!

i believe it was potassium nitrate, or salt peter used in ww-1 and in ww-2 given to soldiers and was also used in prisons to keep one from getting an errection without their knowledge. as far as a free society they are trying to force health care on the individual, and if it passes the supreme court this june it becomes law and the first step to force you to buy and do other things for the good of society.

All people get sick, why wouldn't we all need healthcare? If you could subsidize a plan so it could be affordable for people on a sliding scale is that a bad thing? We should all wait for people to get so bad that they need to go to the "free" hospital? ..then they run (or get dumped) out the door when they can't pay? One of the huge problems I see is that providers overbill for everything, knowing that insurance is only going to cover so much at a time anyway.
I know that some people think Jack Daniels' Whiskey can cure anything but..
As far as "rationing care" - isn't that what for-profit health insurance companies are already doing? I really don't want to be 80 years old and STILL working just to use the health benefits tied to my job..and employers really don't want to pay those benefits anyway.
..but that's interesting, I wonder what would happen if men weren't given this erection suppressing chemical? Of course I also wonder why when people take viagra only their dick gets larger and not say, their left foot..? Ahh, the miracles of modern medicine.

You'd have a hard time finding a Canadian (or Brit likely) who understands this debate in the US at all. The most interesting thing is how politicians have convinced so many people that they don't deserve affordable single payer healthcare. It's nothing short of fascinating. Greed is a powerful agent.

I'm a bit old, so Goth&grunge etc all look suspect to me.lol Gareth Thomas (rugby player/sex symbol) didn't go all Goth when he came out. Although I don't think it's advisable for anybody over 19 to attempt that look.

Whatever it was, lets hope they don't decide to pump it into our water supplies. Its debatable that lowering sex drives would benefit society or not, and it's a scary thought that it probably would be.:eek2:
No more household items getting 'accidentally' stuck up gentleman orifices in A&E's.lol
