In public, is there anyway you can identify yourself as being Bi and not being so obvious to the straight crowd?

lol.... only if people that are looking for a bi person, know what to look for... and assumption is the mother of all embarrassments......

there was a time where wearing a pink shirt was seen as feminine and gay and the old earring in a certain ear was the sign of a gay or bi male..... but with so much diversity and expression of onesself, its harder to reveal your bi nature to people unless they are able to pick up on it......

you can use some of the bi jewellery and clothing with the bi colors but again, it comes back to people knowing what to look for and many of them have no idea or are seeing a person wearing something that may indicate they are bi, but hitting on a stranger is not always the best move and the person may be wearing bi color clothing cos they like the colors......

the trouble is that we may know what to look for when we wear stuff, but others may not...... and the other issue is that the people we may not want to out ourselves to, may well know what bi jewellery looks like and represents......

so there is no quaranteed way to id yourself without being obvious, only trial and error and a few bi jewellery / clothing / emblems etc ....

I wish there was some foolproof, discrete way to mark one's self as bi but I can't think of one. As LDD points out, even if there was a common sign, the wrong people might be aware of it, too. Such a shame.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bisexual_pride_flag

The bisexual pride flag was designed by Michael Page in 1998 in order to give the bisexual community (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bisexual_community) its own symbol (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Symbol) comparable to the Gay pride flag (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rainbow_flag_(LGBT_movement)) of the larger LGBT community (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LGBT_community). His aim was to increase the visibility (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Visibility) of bisexuals, both among society (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Society) as a whole and within the LGBT community (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LGBT_community).The deep pink (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pink) or rose (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rose_(colour)) stripe at the top of the flag represents the possibility of same gender attraction (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Same-sex_attraction); the royal blue (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Royal_blue) stripe at the bottom of the flag represents the possibility of different gender attraction and the stripes overlap in the central fifth of the flag to form a deep shade of lavender (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lavender_(color)) or purple (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Purple), which represents the possibility of attraction anywhere along the entire gender spectrum (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gender_identity). The flag's aspect ratio is not fixed but 2:3 and 3:5 are often used, in common with many other flags.

There is tons of jewelry out there for Gay and Lesbian Pride, but VERY little for us. However, it can be found if you look! I got a tattoo on my hip so when I go swimming, it shows to whomever is interested.
