The lgbt argument isnt quite as much fun here as over the pond, but we do get a good laugh at the hysterics of right wing poticians when someone as noteworthy as Ken Livingstone former mayor of London and ex MP and Labour candidate in the soon to be held Mayoral election says something which gets their backs up.. witness the hysteria of if the right wing media and the discomfiture of his rival Boris Johnson, the current Mayor.. the Tory party riddled with gays (and bisexuals by extension)? Perish the thought, but it does have at least its fair share usually tootling along voting against lgbt issues and hiding very securely in the closet.. but for some to accuse our Ken of being anti gay? God they have a nerve...
This is what he said which has them all so hot and bothered..
"Well, the Labour ones have all come out. As soon as [Tony] Blair got in, if you came out as lesbian or gay you immediately got a job. It was wonderful … you just knew the Tory party was riddled with it, like everywhere else is."

Indelicate possibly, but very typically Ken Livingstone, a politician who has been more of a friend to the lgbt than almost any with a record in the UK at least second to none.. and a point made which has much more than a grain of truth..
