On one of the boating sites I go to----someone posted a link to this story--actually a link to a 12 minute documentary video, narrated by Tom Hanks about an untold aspect of the aftermath of the attacks on the Trade Towers on 9/11---that the boating community of the New York area came together in a spontaneous effort to get people away from the island of Manhattan.
It makes me proud to call myself a boater when I see things of this nature--I know that if I had been around the area then--I sure as hell would have put whatever boat I had in the service of this effort too.
Go to the link and watch this great video---it is just shy of 12 minutes in length.
