Has anyone seen the movie Kaboom (http://http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1523483/)?

There is a bisexual theme to the trailer and I am thinking of purchasing it, but I want to get some feedback first.

first, a working link would be nice Kaboom (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kaboom_(film))

never watched it.... sounds like a b grade movie with a stoned director, a drunk producer and edited by a group of monkeys with lobotomies.......

however, until I watch it..... I have no idea if its any good or not

I haven't seen Kaboom but it looks like it was released in 2010. I'm a video artist and more experimental with my work than what I can dig up on this movie. It has some serious good credits as it was selected to be screened at three of the top Film Festivals in the world. Sundance (2010), Toronto Film Festival (2010) and Cannes Film Festival (2011).

The fact that it was not picked up for major distribution in North America means that it is not main stream enough for major companies to sign contracts. I would guess. I'm not sure if I'd buy it but I'd look at it. It may be somewhat teen directed but that may be good as kids may be more open and accepting of variations in sexuality. Where were you thinking of buying it? ..on line or? Do you know the run time?

Anyway, for those who haven't seen it these clips may be worth watching. They are all short and under 3 minutes. Here are three trailers from the most visually intriguing and plot revealing first on the list. The aspects of bisexuality are clearly presented in these trailers.

Movie Info

Writer and director Gregg Araki revisits the day-glo universe of sex, drugs, and random perversity that informed his early films in this over-the-top dark comedy. Smith (Thomas Dekker) is an 18-year-old film student who is bisexual and has a ravenous erotic appetite; his best friend is Stella (Haley Bennett), who prefers the company of women but is just as enthusiastic about pursuing new lovers. Smith has been haunted by a series of recurring dreams featuring two beautiful women, one dark and enigmatic, the other similarly spectral with flaming red hair. This wouldn't bother him, except that the women from his dreams have begun appearing in real life -- Lorelei (Roxane Mesquida), Stella's new partner, is a magic aficionado who's a dead ringer for the dark-haired woman, and the red-haired girl (Nicole LaLiberte) is being pursued by a gang of masked assassins. Has Smith stumbled into a plot with possible world-changing consequences? Or is this all just the product of some hallucinogenic cookies he was served at a party? Kaboom received its world premiere at the 2010 Cannes Film Festival. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi

Ha! Kaboom reminds me of a story a classmate wrote, in college. (back in '69)

Forgive me, I'm having flash-backs!

An English 101 class required a series of written subjects that we also had to compose, then, get up and read in class. There were themes like: an elective subject of our choosing, a technical-themed report, a little known but historically correct presentation...and so-on.

The presentation I remember most was a short elective story, written and presented by a bisexual-surfer-stoner-hippie-freaky girl.

It was about a girl who, every time danger arouse, she wanted to have sex with whoever was closest. If there was a possibility of her being killed, she wanted to experience as many orgasms as possible, before the end came.

If she was sick, she wanted to have sex. Same scenario.

There was talk of the Russians were going to nuke us from Cuba...you guessed it, she had to have sex, before we all fried!

The story was filled with language of the era, such as: Dude, Hey Mannn, Far out, What's up, Pup?, Like-you know, man, White people were JIM, and back people were BRO, everyone was BROTHER and SISTER. etc, etc......

She wrote that Lyndon Johnson was going to draft girls for combat...she had to have as much sex as she could before the Army came to get her!

She had the flu.... thought she was going to die...she had to have sex until she fell into a coma and died!

Well, you get the idea.......I wish I'd gotten a copy; it's difficult to relay how ludicrous and funny it was. She was a natural born comedienne, but read it all with a straight, somber, face.

I got the feeling that, as she read her presentation, she was living the story in her mind! Her face was flushed and she'd stand on one leg, then the other.

As she read, the teacher, a mousy, skinny, old fellow, with thick glasses, Was absolutely stunned and sat red-faced, throughout the whole reading! I'm sure he'd never heard anything like it...I hadn't either!

We, in the class, were laughing our asses off! I always wondered if she got a passing grade?

During a free period after that class, the rumors were, that she got so aroused from reading her story, that she spent the hour in a smoke-filled VW van, with another stoner-surfer dude and his best girl.

I believed it!

I found another clip about an interview with the director,Greg Araki and lead actor (Thomas Dekker)

This film may have more significance than I realized. It is the first film dealing with queer issues and in particular young people's sexuality that has been selected to be screened at Cannes. It won the "Queer Palm" in 2011.

FINALLY!
Somebody is asking me for an opinion of a movie I have actually seen!
KABOOM is diffrent.
Basic plot is a guy, good looking, goes to college....where he has a BEAUTIFUL ripped ab stoner surfer roomie who likes to attempt self fellation in their dorm room!
He keeps having RECURING dreams....that he doesn't understand.....
His best friend is a girl....who knows he is gay./bi....but she is into women....including a women who is wild in bed....but may have special powers!
He meets another girl...also good looking....who is very upfront of her attraction to having sex!
THEN......things get wild!
I saw it...then I purchased it. I won't lie to you and claim it is the worlds greatest movie....but I liked it. It is quirky...ALL of the actors are attractive..which is a good thing...since most of them are at least partially nude at some point.
I can't say the plot is the greatest....but remember.....I did use the word QUIRKY.
If you like films that are a little diffrent that contain gratitious sex....Go for IT!
Let me know how you make out!

Follow up to last post I made yesterday.
I downloaded and watched the movie yesterday. Agree with johnnyeasy's comments above. Its a fun movie with lots of young actors. I enjoyed most of the film. Not a great movie, but the only one I have seen with such an explicit Bi subject matter that was not a porno film. Worth the time to view to those spending time on this site. Some soft core nudity, Lots of Drugs.

There are better Gregg Araki movies out there like Mysterious Skin, totally fucked up, and the living end.

I saw Kaboom! and it was OK but I knew that the roommate who was playing dumb was really bad and it was sort of predictable.

I wouldn't buy the movie but netflix has it so that's how I watched it.

Following JohnnyEasy's and others' repports I made a point of seeing this.

It would make a great porn or a great horror/SciFi film. Unfortunately it misses out on both. It scores an "Oh, OK! I'll accept that line for now. They are dishy actors. I wonder how saucy it will get. Perhaps it'll improve". To amalgamate both categories would need a lot more film time. This clearly a financial constraint. Trying to tie up the loose ends in the last fve minutes was just a bit too hectic if not absurd.

That said, it was as good as Steve McQueen's (actor) 'The Blob' (1958 and not improved upon in the remake 1988), as engaging as 'Wife to be Sacrificed' (Japanese, 1974) and held as much awe as 'Snakes on a Plane' with Samual L Jackson in the title; 'Kaboom' indeed.

Biggest disapointment? I had hoped that cleaning the lady up after ejaculating would have given the relevant fellow at least a damp beard and moustache if not cause to wipe his face when he reappears.

The resulting critique? Overall, I liked it. Thanks to all for the airing.

Yes, I have seen this with my friends. Movie is all about sexual awakening among a group.
