His rhetoric was a gift and I for one will miss him.

Sorry, but I do not know who this person is? Please clarify.

My apologies as I am horrible at making posts. This is Christopher Hitchens. He's from the UK and was famous for his rhetoric and debated everything from politics to religion. A man on the opposite aisle of me on many issues, but to hear him speak, you had no choice but to respect every word he said. A true intellectual and a treasured gift of humanity. He will be sadly missed.

I know who he is and wish he still was.
Sort of the wrong verb order, but it felt more appropriate to me.
I felt sad when I heard that he died.

The order was fine. I must have spent two hours today watching video clips of some of his interviews and debates. He was a true intellectual pisser.
