Kinky - Unconventional sexual practices
Fetish - Sexual attraction to objects, body parts, etc
Vanilla Sex - Standard or conventional sexual behavior
For me, kinks are cool, depending...of course. Fetishes? Naw. For example, I'm just not into hosiery or the dreaded strap-on. You?

Well I def have my kinks. I like to be tied up, slapped, spanked, choked, called dirty things, threesomes, foursomes, strap-ons, ect. I would have to say my fetish is asses, in particular my husbands. He has the perkiest and roundest ass.

A fetish is a sexual attraction to a non living thing, like shoes; a partialism is a sexual attraction to a body part, like feet. However, people simplify by lumping both together as a fetish.

Not trying to be pedantic, but a fetish really has nothing to do with anything sexual....unless you actually want to sexually worship a foot, and even then it would be stretching the defination. However, it does sound way cooler than partialism....or, why can't we just say we are partial to a womans foot? I agree with Rhaven.......kinky is cool as long as boundries aren't crossed and it becomes criminal and the status of a very depraved mind. Post Script: if someone wanted to shit on me, I'd probably kick their ass right there. Just saying

I like rubbing my cock on a man's hairy leg. Maybe it's the dog in us?
Well I'd rub it in ANYTHING hairy (m/f) except the hair on their heads.
I only recently got to dom (properly? Instead of sensually?) a blindfolded sub bloke, bound his balls, bit his ass etc. That was a revelation!
Got a thing for lips. I swear I got a clitoris in each lip! There's NOTHING I wouldn't lick&suck (if CLEAN!). Other peoples lips are almost like sex organs to me. So I'd say I'm pretty partial to lips.
On the whole though, I'm pretty vanilla as I prefer 1-1.

No poo, pee, pedo or pets...
After that it is all good....
Most call BDSM a fetish, but by your defs it can be a kink (the play), or a fetish (the leather, accouterments, etc).
I guess pleasure is my fetish as I am attracted to most anything (and some pain is definitely part of pleasure).
And, with the exception of the 4 P's above, I never met a kink I didn't like  (or are those fetishes???)
This definitely has a tie in to the Hotlanta Kink Test, which was a good thread a few months back.

Kink:
I like some (should that be most? Well,...,maybe most), but not all, unconventional sexual practices.
Fetish:
I do very much like men's dicks, womens breasts and butts.
Vanailla anything:
I like vanilla sex as much as vanilla pudding. Not bad, not great but I crave it sometimes.

This thread got my attention. Since the proper use of the language is one of my interests (using words and terms the recipient will understand is an aid to communication), I decided to look a few things up. Here is what I found. [I only used one source, so I’m not claiming these definitions are any better than those used by anyone else.]
Fetish
- an object regarded with awe as being the embodiment or habitation of a potent spirit or as having magical potency.
- any object, idea, etc., eliciting unquestioning reverence, respect, or devotion: to make a fetish of high grades.
- Psychology . any object or nongenital part of the body that causes a habitual erotic response or fixation.
Kinky
Slang . marked by unconventional sexual preferences or behavior, as fetishism, sadomasochism, or the like.
Kink
Slang .
- bizarre or unconventional sexual preferences or behavior.
- a person characterized by such preferences or behavior.
Perversion
- any of various means of obtaining sexual gratification that are generally regarded as being abnormal.
- Pathology . a change to what is unnatural or abnormal
Pervert
- a person who practices sexual perversion.
- Pathology . a person affected with perversion.
- a person who has been perverted, especially to a religious belief regarded as erroneous.
OK, using those definitions as a basis, consider this.
One of the activities I personally find great enjoyment in is to give oral pleasure to a male/female couple while they are “making love.” I use the term “making love” instead of just saying “having intercourse” or “f&%$ing” because it is completely different with a couple who are in love and sharing a deeply emotional experience as well as the physical as compared to a non-committed couple who happened to have gone to the same party and decided to get it on.
With the lovers, the act of providing oral stimulus at and around the point of their physical connection is wonderful. Their concentration is on their own exchange of pleasure and their emotional connection is almost palpable. When this occurs, I view the point of their joining as not only physical, but also spiritual and it seems to have a magical potency when further aroused. It is a point to be treated with reverence and respect, especially if they are in the midst of gentle, unhurried splendor.
While so joined, being able to assist them to even greater pleasure and their act of positioning themselves to provide me access is something I treat it as a special gift to me. Maintaining their position as their passion grows is proof to me of their own enjoyment and provides encouragement to further ensure that my ministrations continue to increase that passion and spur them on toward orgasm. I am rewarded by their response to each touch made, to each breath that creates those little shudders that drive them on and the sweet taste of her nectar as his shaft penetrates and withdraws only to return again.
If I am able to remain positioned as they reach their climax, I effectively become part of it. I feel the contraction and relaxation of muscles, the moment of initial release and the pulsation of his shaft as his fluids flow to their destination. I adjust my external touch to match the pulsation and flow until he can penetrate no farther. He pauses, and it seems as though, despite having reach his maximum penetration, he is trying to will his shaft to lengthen to give his seed an additional assist on its journey.
With her orgasm still building, I turn my concentration to her engorged button seeking to aid her, to extend her pleasure and increase the intensity of her orgasm. I feel her reach that pinnacle of joy and as he resumes his movement taste the first of his fluid mingling with her sweet nectar. As he softens and withdraws I can take him fully within my mouth, savoring the taste and removing the product of their love. Returning to her as their fluids begin to flow from her, drinking the honey they have made and finally searching out the last drops my tongue can find as I insert it into her as deep as I can.
Unquestionably, I have partaken of the juices of their lives, the embodiment of their potent spirit and it is, indeed, magical. I have both reverence and respect for their love and during the time they allowed me to join with them in their coupling I experienced my own sexual gratification in a manner would probably be classified by conventional society as abnormal, unnatural or perhaps even bizarre.
Now, I ask you: Is my sexual preference kink or fetish? Is it a perversion?
My opinion, based on the above definitions, is that my sexual preference is a fetish that by conventional standards would possibly be classified as a perversion and, at the very least, would be labeled kinky.
I guess that makes me both a kink and a pervert and I LOVE IT!!!!!

Kinky - Unconventional sexual practices
Fetish - Sexual attraction to objects, body parts, etc
Not to further the semantics debate, but generally the word fetish is not used as indicated above...at least by the common every day Americans in the sexual context. Typically we see fetish referring to BDSM, cross-dressing, etc etc or other 'special' sexual interests outside of plain old missionary intercourse.
Kinky is a word that has a great deal of individual relative nature. One person's 'kinky' can be as simple as using a vibrator/dildo or sex with the lights on, while to another it might be ass fisting or bukkake.
Therefore I would suggest less dictionary-isms and more human-ism. :)
I consider myself to have a kinky nature, I am prone to experiment, but I am into neither ass fisting nor bukkake. According to your dictionary type definition I also have a 'fetish' for pussy/vagina/clitoris. I think saying it that way is rather misleading though.

Well Keef, like has been said, sometimes usage predates the printed dictionary, that is why we have a living language, unlike the French who mandate the correct use of each and every word. The result is that because of the limited number of approved words, many French words end up with more than one meaning and confusion results (i.e The Walkman in English is le troubador in proper french, not sure what happened to the original troubador - BTW, not sure of the spelling).
So in fact this discussion is not dumbing down, it is trying to understand and be more clear and concise. The goal is real understanding and a clearer communication... The dictionary lags reality.
Ease up...

Why the attraction to deaf people? Is it because they're more outgoing and expressive?
I find deaf people very difficult to deal with; we rub each other the wrong way... Um not like that.

Kinks, Fetishes......we each have our own idiosyncrasies. What will send one into a sublime emotional/sexual frame of mind, may turn another person completely off.
Whether these are kinks, fetishes, or just attractions; I like to look at full-figured women and soft, smooth, men. I like breasts on both genders. Rarely do I miss a pretty woman with jiggly cleavage, or a cute, chubby guy in a t-shirt. I've enjoyed male lovers with small cocks, but have had a lover, or two, with large ones. I've loved a few women who were slim, too. But the things that get and keep my attention, are great personalities, common interests, and a cerebral connection...the rest is icing on the cake..
I normally don't get too turned off by things I'm not attraction to. Cross-dressers, flamboyant gays, total bottoms-or total tops, are a few who come to mind. They don't repulse me, but I can't relate to their mind-set.
Some things do repulse me...like: Huge silicone breasts, extreme piercings, scat, rimming, pain, physically hurting others, domination, and humiliation. But, I know some enjoy those things. So, if they have partners who willingly participate and enjoy, that's their business.
Even though I got an admonishment and was given a remedial lesson from Darkeyes, about the differences between fetishes, attractions, and kinks, I still feel that my own definitions combine all of these things.

I'm in love with anyone who's has the balls to cross dress. There is just something about a man in women's apparel that makes my cock as hard as a rock. Now I'm not sure if it's a fetish or kinky, but I don't give a fuck what they call it, I just know it turns me on

Definitely into kinks here. I'm more prone to fantasize about situational happenings than anything specific (like BDSM or feet/water play); like what turns me on the most would be a massage turning into raw sex. Or even something akin to a doctor's visit gone awry. I'm thinking I may be on the wrong thread, but that's what I think of when we're discussing kinks.

Instead of looking through someone else's post to find the answers you want, how about creating your own post?
Write your specific interests, desires, dreams...be as graphic as you like. Ask your own questions. There are others, here, who have the same interests.
Then, if you don't like the replies you get, just ignore them! Surely, you will get plenty of response, though.

I found a solution, I'm just going to refer to appreciation for certain acts, objects, or body parts as a proclivity and others can decide for themselves whether the appreciation makes me a kink, a fetishist, or a pervert. I guess their evaluation will somehow reflect their philosophy about the use of a feather or the whole chicken.

1) Exactly. I'm interested in peoples thoughts on either one. Also, with some people, a kink or fetish is something they fantasize about more than actually do, at least I have found. As far as a strap-on is concerned, if you like it, by all means, do it. For me though, that's why I'm Bi. If I want a hard dick, it's just my preference to want a real one.
2) LOL. I threw the definitions up as a guide. I could give a rat's ass at how people want to define these activities. If I'm looking for a particular "play" I'm into, I avoid using the general terms (kink/fetish) and spell it out, like Dominant/submissive or D/s. No beating around the bush for me.
3) I use clothes to keep warm. I never did have any fashion sense and living where I do, wearing nothing, at least during the summer, suits us just fine. :)

I guess me wife and I fit under all classes: kinky, perverted, fetishists. That's great news!
Our biggest ones:
Watersports (piss, pee, ws, gs, uro, etc), anal (vibes, strap-ons, rimming, etc), crossdressing (mostly for me but sometimes find it hot on others too), tgirls, MMF, MMF with tgirl(s) (or is it MMFT when there's a tgirl involved?).
All of that said, anyone know where to find good tgirl and / or MMF pissing videos? There are a lot of solo tgirl vids out there, but only a couple where they are sharing with another person. I have not found a single one in the MMF realm.

I luv boobs. I enjoy making love to boobs and then sucking his cock. Is that a fetish or kinky? Who cares as long as I can do it often!

OK using those definitions that makes me a kinky pervert. Thanks so much for sharing LOL. I find my self to be sexually adventurous and hyper sexual. I love sex, I love variety and I love trying new things. So I guess I've tried a lot of kinky perverted things too. If I didn't like it it was one and done but if I enjoyed the experience then I incorporated it into my sex life.

Dictionary definitions aside, I think everyone has his/her own view or definition of what is a kink and what is a fetish and what is a perversion. An example of a kink that I enjoy is to be with a man who enjoys wearing panties and other feminine things below the waist. Bras and other above-the-waist women's things that cover his manly chest, hairy or smooth, don't turn me on but also don't detract from the fun. But let him wear sexy panties, stockings with or without garters and spike or strapped hi heels and it is very exciting to me. I also enjoy wearing panties on occasion, but wearing any other feminine attire does nothing for me. This is something I only enjoy occasionally with men who are CDs. This kink adds to the excitement of a mm encounter for me, but it is not necessary. Being naked in bed with a naked man is enough for me. I would consider myself as having crossed the line between kink and fetish if I reached a point where I was only able to enjoy sex with men (or women for that matter) who dress for me. BDSM falls into my kink range if it is engaged in with willing, consensual partners. Among the things I consider as perversions are things such as shit/scat play, sex with animals and non-consensual sex (ie rape/torture/physical or otherwise forcing sex on an unwilling partner). I feel there is special place in Hell for those predator perverts who molest, hurt or kill underaged girls and boys and rape/torture/kill unwilling adults.

A couple of things. I REALLY love to go down on a woman who has just had sex. And I get off on a woman who loves sex and takes care of her own needs. It's what the woman gets out of it that is pleasing to me. I also love to see a woman - particularly a wife or girlfriend - having sex with another man, and loving it. I had an experience where my ex-wife went from my penis to another, back and forth, until each of us came. She did it once orally, then later by mounting each of us in turn. Being part of that was just amazing!

Here is a fetish suit (morphsuit), left to the imagination. Perhaps worn by both boys and girls. I already tried it and it is a beautiful experience

I really love small penis, the smaller the better. This seems to vary from " the norm " , but It's just how I am - I love shemales, girls with small dicks !
