carmen was a inspiration to so many in NZ and a proud LGBT spokeswoman.......and a transvestite, not a drag queen

75 years strong, a legend and a lady.....

some of the main issues such as abortion and homosexuality, prostitution, lgbt marriage, sex ed in school and nude beaches, were things that she stood for and did become legal law over time...... and back in the 70's that made her very out spoken and a * public enemy * to many opponents.....

a visit to carmens international coffee lounge, was a experience and a half..... lol and something I did enjoy a few times...... making many friends and connections there.... some of which I still have today....... even down to the way you placed your coffee cup and spoon to show interest in illicit encounters......
and of course, carmen herself, was always around to hug, and kiss her many customers.... something that endeared her to so many people, cos she cared about us........

so its with a heavy heart that I bide farewall to a LGBT icon and give a very heart felt thanks to queen Carmen...........and somebody that so many NZ people owe so much to.....
