Never tried it. So far no reason to do so......*knock on wood*

But, its good to know such things exist...should they be needed.

It has worked well for me in allowing me to get hard and stay hard. I think it also helped me last longer before orgasm, although I can't be sure that wasn't just placebo affect.

To those who haven't tried it, it doesn't make you horny. It just allows guys with problems getting hard to get hard. You'll be disappointed if you expect increased libido.

When I first got some Viagra samples from the doctor, I showed them to a younger friend who didn't have ED problems. He immediately tore a couple tabs from the packet for himself. I didn't say anything but knew he'd be disappointed as I could tell he thought the stuff was some sort of aphrodisiac.

A few days later he came over and I asked him how it worked. He replied, "Nothing. I thought I'd be able to go at it all night, but I didn't feel a thing". I could have told him that if he'd asked.

I use it regularly but not neccesarily for ED but I can't get as hard as I did in my 20's and 30's. I had had no problems using it other than the expense. My insurance will not pay for it and at my pharmacy I pay $25 per pill. I just spent the weekend with my GF and we spent the majority of our time in bed. I took one Friday evening and had no problem getting hard and staying hard for almost 24 hours. ( No I didn't have a 24 hour hard on) just that everytime I got stimulated by her I got a good hard on. I have found that if I take one it's effects will last about 24 hours. The only side effect that I have experienced is that it gives me Heart Burn

Although my cock aint a floppin...I am thinking that my lady would not be very interested in a 24 hour hard on. Her sexual fulfillment doesnt require such repeated frequent entries into her portals of heaven. In fact, she is blessed as she cums multiple times in short order and is more than satisfied by that.

I might enjoy walking around 'pointing' at her all day though. :tong:

I heard from another older guy that Viagra gave him major headaches so he switched to Cialis and hasn't had a problem. Cialis supposedly works for days, though.

There certainly are side effects to Viagra so a doctor really should be consulted to see if it's right for you (just like the commercial says). I read years ago of a guy that died from it because his blood pressure dropped too low.

See a doctor first and, rather than getting a prescription, ask for free samples. Depending on how sexually active you are, free samples can go a long way. Mine gave me two packs (10 tablets) years ago and I still have over half of them, which I guess shows how inactive I am.

I've also heard from guys who say half a tablet works fine.

That's normally not the case, I believe. While the commercials rightfully warn of "erections that last over ....so many hours", normally you lose it just as you usually do after orgasm.

I was only jesting.

I am curious about it, if given one would give it a whirl just for kicks....and for my lady's kicks.
If I got a screaming migraine from it though I would be hating life. lol...

Hey, there is a lot to be said for Viagra. It gives you a place to hang your hat. They give it to guys in nursing homes Keeps them from rolling out of bed. Try taking some before you go to the airport. That should give those screeners something to talk about.

Chook, dammit, you're putting the pill in the wrong end!

When I complained abut headaches to my doctor, I was advised to take an Advil, or Aleve, with Viagra. Since then, no headaches at all.

Cialis does seem to last longer, but I get better erections with Viagra.

i had the same thing happen to me. i had tried viagra a few years ago and it just really didnt do anything for me but now it really does some good everytime and a lot of times dont need anything. it really depends also is who you are with. you must be turned on by the person you are with before it will work. there is that myth that if you take it you will get an instant erection...not true!! i have a GF now that turns me on and the viagra/levetra works wonders.

if viagra didnt work for you, you might need to change to levetra or some of the others on the market. it is just like any other med, it does good for some and some it dont so it takes some juggling to get what will work. sometimes a doctor will have sample packs that they will give you....dont know if they do that or not anymore but you can get a prescription for like 3 and try so it dont cost so much and if it dont work, call the doctor and change it to another.

the first time i tried viagra, it gave me a screaming headache so that made me skeptical of the viagra but learned if you will eat something before you take them, it cuts down on the headaches. but, that is me, it might affect other differently.

All Ed pills basicly work the same way. They increase blood flow to the penis. By the way, when they were developing viagara it was going to be another blood pressure med. Makes you wonder how they found out it was an ED drug.

As I understand it, they discovered the erection benefits from self reporting comments of men in the early studies. Men who had ED for years began to report the side benefits of the test hear med. Then further studies were done before they announced the med as an ED med.

One comment about the type of responses on this thread.

I don't think that we read a lot of "humour" for other types of meds that help people function and yet we have jokes floating in society about your cockafloppin etc. I recall these jokes first from guy comedians.

I guess it is the fact that the med is for sexual disfunction and a juvenile approach if not puritanical mind set that makes society poke fun at a medical condition?

We don't hear a lot of jokes about menopausal meds do we now?

just wondering.

Viagra is chiefly a heart medication. Since errections require blood flow, any issues with your heart will effect your ability to have an errection. Being overweight, blood pressure, clogged arteries and other heart problems will effect the flow of blood to the rest of the body, including the errection.

Since a healthy person will have a healthy heart and all the blood flow they need, the drug will have little to no effect on them. Much as draino has no effect on a drain that isn't clogged.

A person with erectile difficulties that is corrected with Viagra essentially means that their difficulties are dirrectly related to their health, particularly where their heart is concerned. This means that they can fix their errectile difficulties (except perhaps in cases of the very old, ie 70+ or infirm) by improving their health.

Someone who is 30 to 60 and experiencing erectile difficulties that is cured by Viagra would be well advised to instead exercise, eat healthy, cut down on fatty foods and their sodium intake, loose weight, quite smoking and drink less, and the problem could very well solve itself.

My doctor put me on Levitra which is a Viagra generic. Insurance would not cover the cost of Viagra.

Doctor also encouraged my wearing of bras and panties to help increase my libido.

The cost of Viagra is so high. Has anyone found a safe generic alternative ED pill? I've considered ordering online but I don't want to get ripped off. Does anyone know of safe websites to order from?

My experience with Viagra had mixed results...it worked well usually and though I didn't have any major problems with it, something didn't feel right. Hard to explain but it seemed like there was a fog in those moments. Besides that after reading about some of the side affects and being an opponent of prescription drugs, I realized what a contradiction.
Then I was told of an alternative that had all natural ingredients. The name of the product (get ready for it ) is Stiff Nights. Well, as it turned out, it was much better than Viagra by far. Taken on an empty stomach, it lasts for at least 2 days and can for as many as 3. What was really unique about it was that once it kicked in, I would feel the tingling sensations in my cock like I use to when I was a teen and in my 20's. And this would/does happen even prior to any sexual stimulation. I take it usually an hour before I know I'm going to be sexually active. And then during the time that you're enjoying sex, it's amazing. I told a good bi friend of mine about it and he purchased some also and had exactly the same results.
As it turned out, the store I bought it from found out that the company that makes Viagra ( I think it's Pfizer but can't remember) threatened a law suit because there was one ingredient that is in Viagra that Stiff Nights used. I don't know which ingredient that is and this is going on what the clerk told me at the store. They had several bottles of it left and I purchased several of them and still have some left. And it costs about a third of Viagra. I've been told that there is still one distributor online that carries it. If that's true about a threatened Viagra law suit, then the information I received would seem to conflict with someone still selling it online or anywhere else.
But I can tell you that there is nothing better than this product for E.D. as far as I know. There's a better remedy than pills or capsules but a lot of men are unwilling to try it. And I understand that as I use to be the same way. I've now reached the point where I don't really need anything anymore because of the discipline of going to the gym and working out regularly which has completely changed my health and sex life. I realize this doesn't work for everyone, but it is true that excersize really does change things. I wasn't sure if that was true when hearing it before I became regular at working out. And I do it just to maintain general good health. But when I know I'm going to have an intense sexual workout I sometimes will take a capsule of Stiff Nights for good measure (pun intended).

I didn't like Viagra, nor did it work well. I love Cialis! 48 hours of hard ons when I want them, it's great.
