If you watch most porns you will note that the passion and noise is mainly coming from the Women and not the men, even in straight porn. Men are quieter and more focused in the act.

It's not the gay porn that is bland and unpasionate, it is the men in most porn.

Add to this, most porn actors are hired for their physical assets and not their ability to actually act, and pasionate, emmotional sex requires acting.

Often female porn actors have other career options that male porn actors don't, exotic dancing/stripping, modeling, nude/sex magazines, escort services, online cam/chat, hostess, etc, as well as even being well know celebrities in the field. Whereas there are fewer such opportunities for men.

The other reason for male porn actors being poor actors, is performance. many men have trouble performing for the camera on set, so a good many potential male actors find themselves of little to no value in the porn industry if they can't keep it up, whereas a male who can keep it up may get the job, despite being a poor actor and not as good looking, simply because he is erect.

These factors lead to there being a larger pool of talented actors for females in the porn industry then for males.

As I have said very often---I find most of the professionally produced porn to be pretty lame----there are a few companies that strive for better and more believable story lines, acting and all that--but with most companies--its like they have this "punch list" of the points that need to be covered no matter the genre of porn that must be hit and as they get to each one of those things--they X it out and move on the shooting the scene with the next item on the list.

that's an interesting point, but what brings you to that conclusion? it seems like a wild assertion.
I would say rather the opposite: a lot of so-called 'straight' guys in gay porn are actually gay. u know the ones, 'bait bus', 'broke straight blokes do gay things' etc. the same 'straight' guy then pops up again and again on gay porn sites.

There are a lot of misconceptions and false myths about porn in this thread.

As someone who actually has done porn before I'll tell you what it's really like.

1. You don't make a lot of money by being filmed in porn at all even if you're a woman or a man. It's not anything that you can have any sort of career out of, you're very easily expendable, and you're not going to make tons of money by being in porn movies. Most men and women in porn are prostitutes on the side-I never did this- and make most of their money that way. Porn studios make most of the money from porn that's filmed or made.

2. Straight guys don't wind up doing gay porn, bisexual porn, or any sort of porn where they have sex with a man. They may appear in solo masturbation scenes that are marketed as porn for bisexual and gay men but they're not having sex with men at all by doing the solo j/o porn.

3. You don't have to do gay or all male porn at all in order to do straight porn.

4. There are straight men in porn but then there are also some bisexual men in porn who have done both gay porn and straight porn. Peter North AKA Matt Ramsey is one of them and there are a lot more.

5. Even if two gay men or two bisexual men are having sex in a porn they're usually 99% of the time not attracted to the other person or people at all. It's like this in straight porn too.

So many valid points made so far and some that I think are way off the mark in my opinion. Since I didn't read all the posts to this topic, forgive me if what I say here has already been covered. Don't know if what I have to say will be of interest to anyone but here goes.
First, there was a comment made that expressing emotions during the filming of these sexual encounters takes good acting; I disagree. I think the best porn whether straight, gay, bi, or whatever is when the people engaged in play are totally into the moment as though there are no cameras there.

I know that in most cases they are being directed, but the best performers are the ones who are totally into the sex where it's another encounter for them whether they're paid or not. In other words, it's the real deal and they are enjoying themselves like they would at any other time just as they would in private. I know they realize there are cameras there, but they get into the 'zone' so much that they are truly enjoying it and I would imagine that some of them get turned on even more knowing that they're being watched by whoever is in the room and knowing millions will see it later. It reminds me when I have been involved in group sex and when I've really been into it and am totally tuned in, it doesn't matter to me that there are others in the room; it only heightens the intensity of what's going on.
