I've been pretty hard on myself lately, and one thing that has been bothered me is my own homophobia. When I was younger, I used to say and even write things that looking back now I'm ashamed of. I know that it's not the "real me", but I feel awful about it and I am worried what someone would think of me as I was back then.

Has anyone had similar experiences? How do you forgive yourself?

Well it's good to hear that your finally down on your knee's willing to take your punishment.;)

RELAX! I'm sure we ALL have regrets. Not all of us were born waving a LGBT flag and jumping to the aid of all non heterosexual brothers and sisters.
No! Some of us were born Humans, and prone to being complete twats at times.

But isn't it good enough that we can look back and recognise what a twat we were?

Totally in agreement with the previous posters. Most of us have had to process our way through it in some fashion.
Go forth and commit that particular 'sin' no more.:) Now you know better... forgive yourself and move on.
