Slip mentioned awhile back a reference to validity of polls on this site. He asked if the polster had taken any stats courses. I have and just barely remember it. It did help me in my studies though.

Still for those pissed off with some polls here. Why don't we chat about what would make us think that a poll was more valid than others on here?

I'll start it by writing two:

a/ Selecting options for the poll
A key component may be to include the option of "all of the above" or "none of the above". Another might be to narrow down the options and info found from earlier polls into your new poll.

b/ Bias
How do you construct a poll that is not obviously biased to your desired outcome?
