I would say that this study would be very interesting to read...... and interesting to see the response from other members in the site.....

there is a lot of truth in the statement, actions speak louder than words.... and in this case, its the actions of surfing for key words, that tell a story that may or may not show a better understanding of human sexuality

what better way to tell what interests a person, than what they view on the net...... as it tells a clearer story than a survey that relies a lot of assumption and personal perception and interpertation

At least they mentioned in passing both bisexuals and Trans people in just one sentence.

Men want bigger cocks and be great at sex! That's why cuckold and big cock porn is popular with straight men IMO.
I've never seen 'little dicked crap at sex' porn on the net. No! If they want to watch the Mrs getting nailed, it's with a big hung black bloke, or a white one when their not available.
It's more to to with transference than sperm IMO (they want to be that man. Or even the woman).

The authors of this book were severely criticized for their earlier book "Rule 34: What Netporn Teaches Us About The Brain." in 2009.
"Many people who read the survey found it to be poorly designed and offensive, and anger grew as fan authors came to fear that the book would present erroneous information about their community......a mass-market book written by inept, ignorant authors."

There is the possibility that this new book also has questionable methods and has been written to sensationalize for profit but that is yet to be determined. The point in the article stating that a magazine and Freakeconmics internet blogs has reported on their research rather than professional journals is also highly suspect at the credibility of their "research" statements in the article. Freakeconomics seems to be a blog on how to make money rather than credible scientific sex research.

I wonder how to contrasts with that study that found homophobes getting aroused at gay porn - maybe it wasn't simply sexual but a deeper psychological event.

Freakonomics is a couple of economists who have done interesting research into everyday phenomenon using the methods of economists - specifically often looking at people's motivation if I recall. They had a bestseller back in 2004 or 2005.

I wouldn't trust this type of "study" without a known way of tracking subjects and years of research. Besides what you look at online and what you will do in real life can be two different things. I felt pretty bad for that poor eel I saw one time..
