I knew what today was but since my dad is dead, it almost can pass by...not quite though. My Dad has been gone for sometime now. He went suddenly. Even though I knew that he had been ill, I was unprepared for his death. Its true. I'd give a lot to have him here with me for a few hours.

For those who have a living father, I hope that your time with him has been positive. My time with my dad really was. I just didn't know it at the time. I'd tell him that I love him ...even though he wasn't the kind of man that said those things. I know he loved me and I love him. Thanks Dad for giving me my values and so much more.

My Dad was an asshole, A child molester and a rapist. He is dead and All I can say was that it was a prayer answered for me. Gave me closure to an extent. I can honestly say that I have more respect for that man than he ever had for me. 9 years since he passed and since I have received his ashes. Easily I could have flushed him, put him in he garbage, or any other careless possibilities. But I hold on to them none the less for the day when those he spawned all get together and agree on a respectable way to place him.

My own husband is to be Celebrated this day in our house, A man who works 13 hours a day 5 days a week to keep us afloat, who shows us strength/security/ and love incomparable to the man I had known as father. And to my husband's father who despite challenges loved regardless, suffered immensely in the name of his beliefs and died willfully battling cancer on his own. For that was the man he was. Never wishing to be a burden, never wishing to be seen as weak.

And to all the other father's. Who suffer the grind. Kiss the boo boos. Respect their childs mothers, show up at the most important moments, Who can see how they are a miracle in their children's eyes as much as they view their children are to them and show them what Men really are. To you. I say... Happy Father's day and to those who see their son's being wonderful fathers to their own children. It's a day to recognize how proud you can be in your legacy.

Tenni, I am sorry you lost your father. My father is one of the most important people in my life and I am lucky to still have him. Not all fathers are great, but as once said "Any sperm can make some a father, it takes a real man to be a daddy" So Happy Daddy's Day to all and to the ones that had fathers that were not good in their life, I'm sorry from the bottom of my heart.
