I just finished watching this documentary on PBS. It is a collection of narratives from people in LGBT community. It talks of how liberating coming out can be, the freedom from lies that it gives. Also, how so many years of hiding developed habits that have to be unlearned. Stories about how, at the start of the AIDS epidemic, that lesbians came out in force to help their gay brothers.

Two couples struck me the most. Both were relationships of 40+ years. They would finish the other's sentences as only long-time friends and lovers do. They talk of the Stonewall Riots in New York, and the birth of the Gay Pride marches that followed.

Unfortunately, there are some stations that aren't televising the show.

I just wanted to bring attention to this documentary. It is worthwhile for everyone to see and hopefully it will become available online so that those outside north america who are interested can view it.
