Last night from my hospital bed I watched something sublime and just had to come out of my self imposed exile for a short time just to let you know of my breathless exitement.
Those who know me know of my love for footie. Last night I watched Barcelona lift the Champions League with a brand of football I never dreamed could possibly exist and had to share this excitement with you all. I may be ill, but for a couple of hours last night I forgot all about myself for a little and marvelled at the most magical, entrancing 90 minutes of football anyone has ever seen.
The defeated team, Manchester United were totally swept aside but contributed to the spectacle and to their credit, unlike many teams who were being put to the sword did not clog down their opponents with brutality, but contributed to a wonderful hour and a half by trying to play and playing some good football themselves.
The heart and spirits were lifted last night by a couple of dozen supremely talented human beings and any who saw it, the memory will live in the mind for as long as they live. Last night football for all its problems was without question truly "the beautiful game".
If you didnt see it, do what you can to catch a recording. Even knowing who won wont spoil it. It was truly sublime.
Love to all.:)
