Weigh in guys and gals, what's your poison? Do you take it black, have to have cream or do you prefer milk and is it sugar or Sweet~N~Low?

Leaded or Unleaded or any of the variants of cappucinos and lattes.

Personally, I like mine black and full of caffeine and I like it to taste like coffee not coffee colored water. Although those English Toffee cappucinos at the gas station do tempt me once in a bit.

Oh boy....where to start.

Used to carry a thermos with me to refill on long hauls, nice hot black coffee. Nothing like it. Gotta have the caffeine or may as well not be drinking coffee, imo.

Since I retired I don't cart a thermos around anymore but I still need that nice cup of coffee right when I get up. Set the automatic timer on the pot and wake up to the smell of coffee brewing everyday.

Can't stand flavored coffees.

Coffee with powdered dairy creamer and honey. A friend thinks that's awful....says "You don't like coffee, just the stuff you put in it."

A little whiskey in it, in the winter's nice, too!

Coffee is Equal with whole milk at home elsewhere it is with Splenda and cream.

I will take it black in some spaces, if they don't have Equal/ Splenda and only dry creamer.

At home I use a french press (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/French_press), or make Café con leche (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caf%C3%A9_con_leche) which is similar to, although different from in some specific ways, a caffè latte.

With breakfast or over good conversation, I love dark, strong, complex roasts with cream.

I also enjoy an occasional espresso, Cafe Americano, or coffee with a shot of espresso...a capuccino for dessert can be nice once in a while.

Also for dessert in the evening every once in a great while I enjoy a cup of espresso with some cream and half-packet of Splenda or Sweet-n-Low, or a *dash* of flavored syrup.

Any time we make our own, it is with whole beans, freshly ground.

This is today. But I also have a secret shameful coffee past. There was a day when I would put 2 heaping spoons of sugar in my coffee and cream. There was a day when I would drink pre-ground coffee, and would happily consume froofy flavors like mocha almond, blueberry crumb (crumb coffee???), or English vanilla (yeah, they grow vanilla in England). But there were even more remote days when I would stoop to *gasp* instant coffees...even those ghastly "International" thingies (can't even remember the exact name, but they came in white tins and truly embarrassing flavors).

But there has been one constant throughout my life, and it is almost as embarrassing as my shameful coffee past: I cannot safely enjoy more than one cup per day. If I drink as much as two cups (of decent coffee...not that coffee-barely-flavored water crap), there is a very good chance that I will be unable to sleep that night. It is also an established scientific fact that after even one sip more than one cup of coffee, I begin to talk uncontrollably. I will babble on and on and on, more or less intelligibly, but with increasing numbers of tangents and diversions.

Some women are fun when you get 'em drunk. Get me drunk, and I become quiet and thoughtful. It's when you give me coffee that I become the life of the party.

But most days I prefer to stick to my one cup of really good coffee...with cream...just cream.

I like my coffee light and sweet. I sweeten it with the blue stuff. I prefer to use half and half but my backside is big enough so I drink it at home with skim milk. I used to drink a full pot of regular coffee every morning but my stomach can't take the caffein any more so it's the unleaded stuff now. It sucks getting old.

YES,,, I do like my coffee in the morning. It's what helps me wake up and gets me started in the morning. I am of the opinion that if America (or really the whole world in general) didn't have it's morning dose of coffee, things would be quite differently, and that it would not be a good thing either!

Anyway, I like mine like I like my lovers,,, "blond and sweet" :tong: I also like mine to be the real, caffeine or "leaded type" too. It seems to me that decaffeinated coffee is like a girl that is wearing falsies,,, neat to look at and dream about, but in reality,,, theirs nothing there! ;)

And so, that's my story, :2cents: and I'm stickin to it... Your friend, :doggie:

When I was a child my mum weaned me on to coffee when I was about 10. She gave me my first cup made with instant coffee and 100% full cream cows milk and two sugars and I thought it delicious. Even now I still sneak this comfort drink when people arent looking. Usually I drink French or Brazilian coffee, black with no sugar, made in a filter machine, but this one childhood memory I am unable to shake off.

Thanks to crohns, I can't enjoy coffee as much as I would like. I mean I could, but I'm a busy guy and can't spend all day in the bathroom after enjoying a great cup.

I like the taste of a strong coffee, but it'll screw me up right off. So I have perfected a recipe for a Late or Ice Late (the cold temps are better on my guts).

Nice strong Mexican or Italian ground beans, 1/4th cup mixed with 3/4 cups of milk, 3 squirts of Caramel, Vanilla, or Chocolate syrup.

I can have one or the other at most, twice a week with no trouble. I really, really miss being able to have it every morning.

Just neva ask me for coffee in Starbucks or Costa Coffee... overpriced grot.. the best coffee I have always found in France.. black, strong and actually tastes what it is meant to be..

Kate and I have two coffee machines on the bunker in the kitchen.. cos while we both drink our coffee black and like it to taste of coffee, we do have differnt tastes in what we like.. she likes hers a bit stronger than I do, but the coffee we drink most of is a blend which after a couple of years of trial and error, we get from a lil coffee shop in town which blends it for us.. a Brazilian, French, Mocha and Kenya blend which suits our palates and is always our preferred evening sip after tea.. we have tried to mix it ourselves but somehow it never has quite the zing of the stuff we buy in..

I just like coffee. It is THE drink. I don't do the ground coffee thing.....but will drink it, if someone else has to do the dirty work. So I am limited to my Nescafe Original, although I prefer Gold Blend. I tend to have mug after mug of coffee, one sweetener per mug. It never keeps me from sleeping, never makes me feel cranky and if I don't drink any for awhile, I don't get any withdrawal symptoms...lol. I just like coffee. I never used to drink it...always tea, but got into drinking it at work. For quite a few years I actually gave up drinking it...don't know why....but one day...ran out of tea....only coffee available..Oh, well!! I like my coffee with milk, not black and it can be any of the combinations that they serve in my local, High Street watering hole...as long as it is coffee. I probably drink too much of it...but then again...I'm not drinking coffee made from ground beans. Still like tea, made well....but why does tea make one feel bloated, if too much is drunk?

Coffee wins over any kind of alcohol....any day!

There is another beverage? I have about a pot and a half of the wonderful brown liquid every day... start drinking it around 7 in the morning and end about 10 or 11 at night.

Like a wonderful dark roast with cream and splenda... :)

If Im hitting the "bucks" I have a quad Venti iced latte with 2 splenda.

Drinking coffee improves women’s brainpower in stressful situations – but sends men into meltdown, according to a study.

The researchers, from Bristol University, wanted to examine what coffee does to the body when it is already under stress, such as during a tense meeting.
They recruited 64 men and women and put them in same-sex pairs. Each pair was given a range of tasks to complete, including carrying out negotiations, completing puzzles and tackling memory challenges, and told they would have to give a public presentation relating to their tasks afterwards.
Half of the pairs were given decaffeinated coffee, while the others were handed a cup containing a large shot of caffeine.
The researchers found that men’s performance in memory tests was ‘greatly impaired’ if they drank the caffeinated coffee.

Rice - White or wild, brown ... keep the yellow stuff, we use corn instead

Saki - warm

Wine - "Keep that swill to yourself." Just never have developed a taste for it.

2 cups or one mug in day--in the morning. Fresh ground "whatever looked interesting when last we shopped" coffee beans. Lots of cream and fake sugar. I'd use real sugar but I can't justify it anymore. Strong, light and sweet. Oddly enough, I like my iced coffee less sweet than my hot coffee.

Got coffee out of the vending machine at work this morning. You know how hot it can be out of those machines. Trying to be helpful, I also got some for a couple of the girls in the office. A visitor to the office, not watching where he was going bumped into me and tipped the tray. I now have nice scalds on my tummy, hip and feet. Also a very soggy stained blouse and skirt. It soaked right through to my knickers.

I am not best pleased, but a first aider was called and I got pretty prompt treatment. I have blistered on one foot but it could have been so much worse. A minor accident but one which could so easily have been avoided. One of the girls ran me home and I have the rest of the day off. Very nice but my tummy and feet smart.

I knew there was a reason I don't like Nescafe much.

I'm not up on this sort of thing, but there is an accident book which was completed almost there and then. In the UK we don't go in for litigating for every little thing, but I assume I am entitled to something for the pain and discomfort. I don't know who would be responsible. Work must bear its share for it is they who insist on vending machines and had them installed, and it happened on their property. Would the company who installed it bear some responsibility? What about the man who caused the accident? Does he bear a personal liability?

When I got home there was a message on my answering machine from the union asking if I want to pursue a claim. Quick of the mark. Impressive. I don't know whether I do or not because I'm not seriously hurt and I wont be marked permanently, my clothes were rinsed through to prevent permanent staining. Thank goodness for automatic hand dryers in the ladies.

I hate these stupid thin little plastic cups. Just picking them up sizzles my fingers. I also hate polystyrene cups although they at least protect my fingers, but it is like drinking out of cotton wool.

I'd say you would at least be compensated for lost wages but not sure how things get settled in the UK. I don't like plastic cups for coffee period, the styrofoam at least acts as an insulator and keeps hands from being burnt but keeps the coffee hot. Personally, at home, I drink out of a stoneware cup. Keeps my coffee hotter longer and also is just warm enough on the hands in the winter that it helps. Again, hon, I'm sorry you got hurt. So just rest and don't blame the beverage or even the man who bumped ya, accidents sometimes are just accidents.

Glad 2 hear ur not badly hurt Sam... wud miss that lil ba' face if suddenly ya werent 'bout!!:tong:

You may well have a case Sam if u really wanna push it.. the union will give ya the low down.. u certainly have a case against the employer, I'm not sure about the vending company. I doubt it, but union lawyers will tellya.. as to Darlin' darlin's comment bout wages it wont come to that I would think.. u will have been paid for today, and I assume u will b ok for going back Monday.. arguably u could have a claim against the guy who clattered inta ya.. I wouldnt think it would go to court unless ur employer decides to be bloody minded. If on the advice of union lawyers u do have a case, they will tellya best how 2 proceed, but if u do go ahead, I would expect it to come down to an out of court settlement in the end.. ur on probation hun so I would be careful how far and how hard u wanna push it.. but they are a big company with a decent record of tryin not 2 treat staff like poop.. so I expect they will want 2 sort it without embarrassment through a bad press.. but also being an insurance company who knows just what they will do when it comes to coughing up money!! They dont like coughing up money people are due, so God knows what their reaction will be about coughing up their own!!

Two things.. first I wudda went 2 hospital an had it checked out.. and also wudda arranged pics 2 b taken of the injuries.. ifya havent yet, ya hav a fone.. get the kit off an get in front of a mirror.. keep an eye on things ova next few days an if things get worse more pics an off 2 hosp wiv u.. if u do decide 2 proceed wiv a case.. hosp reports and pics will be helpful both in helpin u win the case, and in determinin woteva damages u will b offered and/or awarded..

... now that me has got the mercenary bit outa me system.. dus that mean poor ole u cant get out this weekend?? Awwwwwww.....;)

I am craving a coffee and I found this thread. I drink espresso with sugar and milk or I will make a Caffè latte or a real latte macchiato which is totally different from the sugar filled overpriced swill Charbuck$ sells and calls a macchiato. I also grind fresh coffee beans and make drip coffee and I put just a little bit of milk in that. I own an ibrik and I also make Turkish coffee. I own a Moka pot I use to make espresso and I have a cheap Mr. Coffee espresso machine I use to make other drinks like a cafe mocha or Cuban coffee which is easy to make. If I put sugar in coffee I prefer raw sugar, honey, or avage but I use a small amount of white sugar sometimes too. The only coffee I drink black is either Turkish coffee or Mexican coffee from Chiapas. In the summer I will make iced coffee but I just pour it directly over ice and I either drink it black with sugar or a small amount of milk in it. I also enjoy tea: black tea, oolong tea, green tea, herbal blends including rooibos, yerba mate, and chamomile, and I like to drink Chinese white tea.

Forget where I read it, but recall one cat saying he likes to cum in his coffee, then drink it. Read another where a guy did that into a clear cup, cum sinks to the bottom. Guess that puts the finishing touch on a nice cup of Joe.

My preference: Freshly ground, medium roast (so it has a rich powerful flavour, but without the burnt, aka "smokey", taste of the very dark roasts). Specifically I like Starbucks' Pike Place, formerly known as their House Blend. A bit of half-and-half cream (10% M.F.), but not too much. And a bit of artificial sweetener.

Why is it that most Americans and most Canadians drink shitty weak coffee? Dunkin Donuts' coffee, Starbucks' burnt coffee, and Tim Horton's the Canadian version of Dunkin Donuts are all examples of this. The stuff you can buy and make at home that's weak are coffees like Maxwell House, Folger's, and Chase & Sandborn are all examples of weak "coffee" flavored water like someone wrote. I have had stronger and better coffee in gas stations like the chick who wrote this thread said she gets her coffee from. I buy coffee beans from local places that sell them and grind my own and make it strong at home. I drink it either black or with some milk.

Mocha! Two flavours at once, it's the only way to go...

I mostly drink tea. I like coffee, but a while ago my sensitivity to it heightened, and so I have to think twice about enjoying it...when I do, a latte or mocha does the trick. Otherwise, black tea with cream, put the cream in the cup, then the tea, please.

I met a possible FWB for coffee just the other day, and had a latte. It tasted real good, and I'm looking forward to tasting the friend soon!

Hot, strong and black. I miss my German coffee. Oh well, I shall make do with what I have and enjoy it.

I had two cups of coffee today one hot and one iced with fresh ground coffee beans and I made it strong the way I enjoy it. I usually do not put sugar in coffee just milk.
