I'm getting much too serious in outlook.. I know the world is in a poopie mess, and my country in as poopie as any in the western world at least.. and that our government is shite and our PM an arsehole and the leader of the opposition a wet drip.. but really..
..last night I had dinner at my best friend's.. we talked seriously as we always do about the ills of the world over dinner, but when it came to plonk and giggle time, I didnt want to switch off.. when she started flirting which she always does, I took it seriously and was horrified.. I have never take it seriously ever. When she blew me a kissie across the table to break my tirade of indignation I was flabberghasted and really thought she was out to seduce me.. when I came off my high horse I was soooooo embarrassed.. by the time I realised just what a little idiot I had been and how intense, she was in fits of hysterical laughter and my poor lil face was as red as beetroot.. she got up from her chair walked over and kissed me on the head filled up my glass and said "Drink the bloody thing and stop being such a boring fucking cow.. lighten up.." At last I reverted to silly tart, and laughs were indeed had in abundance..
Sound advice from a luffly lady.. time I did..:)

Its good advice. Every now and then you just gotta step back, disconnect from the world, and enjoy the life you have before it's all over.

Wait? If Fran Shurrups do we send flowers for the funeral?
Luffs ya hon, but your friend was right on the mark. You don't wanna go all wrinkly and get people niggly about inviting you out to eat cause you forget how to have fun. No one can solve all the world's problems and there is a time to just enjoy the life you have and be thankful you live somewhere not touched by conflict.

Sounds like you have a good friend there Fran. Most of us need somebody to tell us to lighten up occasionally.

It has been noticed that you have been going a bit over the top lately. Trust Jo to be the one to alert you to the problem. As you are so fond of saying to people - chill!:)
Much luv.

lol My Luffly Tart. Life is too serious to be Too serious all of the time. Its filled with too much hate and discontent and mean-ness. We see it everyday...thats why I dont watch the news. ;)
Ya gotta take time to make time to just cut loose and get a little daft here and there, Babygirl. Dont let all of the bad in the world clog up your beautiful mind, let loose. Cut up. Act out. Act badly (but in a good way) Let your mind be free, Sweetie. Decide to just have a "Fuck it" day and let mischief rule for once.
My youngest daughter there in London had one of those recently. She had had a shitty day at work and decided to be a "Little shit" on the way home. I guess a guy at the Counsolet(sp) had been nasty to some of the girls in the office, and she was feeling ticked about it. So standing in the railway was Mr Butthead and ahead of him was a tallish, prudish-looking man. My Child crept up close and was standing beside Mr Butthead. She reached between MB and the man to firmly tweek Mr Prude's butt cheek. The man turned around and looked at her, and she in turn, turned to look at MB in a manner that said "You pervert" and looked up at Mr Prude, back at MB and kind of moved to her right as if not wanting to stand next to Mr Butthead. The taller man looked down at Butthead and said "Oy! I say. I'll thank you to keep your hands to yourself, Sir!"
People naturally had to turn to see what the commotion was all about, and looked straight at Mr. Butthead. Automatically they suspected a groper in their midst.....
MB was so stunned that he couldnt confirm Nor deny. My daughter looked at his stricken expression, stuck her little nose in the air with a "Humph!" and entered the train when it arrived. She was quaking with inner laughter as they entered, and had a hard time all the way to her station of not laughing at what she had done. Yep, definately My Child.
So my dearest Fran. Decide to have yourself a "Fuck it" day once in a while. Dont take life so seriously, or it'll make you old, and you, my lady, are much too beautiful to get old before your time.
Have fun. Get a little rowdy once in a while. Live life to its fullest fun-ness!

my sister once said to me " the best cause we can fight for, is to smile at least once a day "
its a good cause...... cos it stops us from becoming so caught up in the battles of life that we forget that we have so much to smile about......
here in new zealand, you can see the effects of being too serious and what its done to our country....be forwarned

I do have a "fuck it" day every weekend.. sometimes 2, Cat me luffly.. but have noticed that whereas it was out and "fuck it" now sometimes I do keep getting back to things which are important to me and not winding down as once I did.. why it is I have no idea.. maybe I am gettin old.. naaa... not yet awhile.. still have 2 much fun 2 b had.. I do get stressed cosa work which is something I never ever used to do.. and there is so much to do at home for it.. shitty life of teaching I suppose.. and the buggers wanna take some of me hols of me? Fat bloody chance of me ever agreeing to that!
I have always been liable to fly off the handle sometimes at things I dont like. Must admit it is a lil more frequent these days and so I think its time I did stand back and think of just what I'm doing. I have taken on several more things in my life which are taking up more of my time, and getting involved in smaller ways in a number of campaigns and voluntary organisations which while not time consuming do ignite the passion.. and are always likely to get me to sound off and sometimes shoot from the hip.. Time for a lil review I think.. before it all gets outa hand.. cant have me gettin old b4 me time now can I Cat?;)
An darlin' darlin'?? I Know I cant save the world.. merely make a contribution to it.. as best I can.. a friend once said to me to stop geetting so wound up about things.. life is too short to struggle against things you cant do anything about.. that went down like a ton of bricks.. I can do a little.. maybe not about everything.. but in all conscience couldnt allow everything to pass me by and say and do nothing.. but you're right.. I should enjoy life and for the most part do.. so am disentangling from a few of my little involvements and cutting down on several others.. I have a family I need to spend more time with as well as simply going out on one of Cat's "fuck it" (do luff that expression) days.. it occurred to me only today we havent had a family jam sesh since christmas.. about time I rectified that u think? Nowt quite soothes the soul like music..:)
..and to the luffly Sam.. nope.. thank god for 'er.. the cow always has been able to stop me worst excesses in all things.. Kate's home now and we finally had our val's day dinner, lil plonk an a huggle.. so life forya Auntie Flan is gud and she is well chilled tyvm.. an more;)
..an Duckie me luffly.. dontcha worry ya pretty lil head bout me an smilin.. may be an opinionated pain in the arse.. may get too wound up in things and feel them.. may be too argumentative.. but the one thing I do well is smile.. and a thing I do a great deal of is laugh... life without laughter is hardly life at all...:)

Come
Rest thy head on my breast
Sleep away the stress of the day
I wait for thee
Shall soothe thee
Wipe away thy tears of sadness

Dearest Frances,
I love you to pieces....but YOU my dear have the most wonderful woman in your life. Lay with Kate, rest your head upon her breast. Breathe the air she shares and the love she gives you.

This morning while locking up my car before going in to school I was knocked over by a guy being walked by his great dane.. prostate on the ground I didnt know what had hit me for a second.. he did stop to check I was ok but what was most cheering was the fact that several lads from my school ran to my aid and were really concerned in case I had been hurt. They picked up my brief case, my hand bag, the contents of which were scttered all over the pavement. First two periods this morning was one of my most difficult classes.. usually very raucous and difficult to manage. Not today.. no stress for Fran.. only concern that my newly acquired limp wasnt bothering me and couldn't do enough to make the class as easy to handle as possible..
When the class ended, a little smart arse on his way out quipped with a dirty leer on his face.. next time "Miss? Wear a skirt next time ye get knocked on yer arse!!!!" Dirty little bugger! Never in a million years at work.. it is for just such occasions I wear trousers to work at all times!!! I remember boys dropping pencils and rubbers so they can have a look up teacher's skirt.. and I'm not giving them the chance..:)
