Maybe not, or maybe so. It appeared to me the team more or less gave up. I'm not a player so can only speculate, voice an opinion. If it's not money, maybe food or sex. These often do seem the base primal motivators.

Might even be power. Recall the story of the Bakewell witches. Apparently someone in power needed a Baphomet to act in the clear. Forgive me, do seem to retain a maudlin outlook of it all.
