I guess its been because I have been busy and not on all that much lately---but looking at the year I joined---it was basically in the holiday season back in 2005 that I first came to this site---it was actually right after Thanksgiving of that year.

I was not in the best of health then---one day I had woken up, was getting ready for work when I suddenly got very dizzy---I had been already "right sized" from my previous job thanks to a buyout of the publisher I had worked for in that time frame---but was doing a long term job assignment via Manpower around the time I joined here. I forgot exactly what the company was and the job I was doing for them since I had to give it up. One of the problems with being a temp worker---you cannot make it---they just call the next person on the list to take your place.

I found that I had been hit with a very bad case of vertigo that for nearly a month, it kept me pretty much immobile---other than spending a few times in the VA laid up in bed with IVs and such.

At home I slowly got over it and the thing passed---it was during that time that I had found this site and spent a great deal of time here.

Even though I was sidelined at the time---the desires I had been having for many years to "discover my bi side" were so strong that I had to do something about them.

About the only thing I could do was to be online--I could not watch TV much--but being online seemed to actually help my dizziness, so I came across this site.

It helped me find lots of answers to questions and such that I had back then and surely helped me in this process.

The site has of course changed at least in terms of those who are here and its "tone and tenor."

At times I sure do miss many of those who left the site for whatever reason----some because they didn't feel it was of any service to them, or they had gone on to figure they were either going to remain straight, were really gay or whatever.

Sadly---some people from those days like Huneypot and UsedBear died, others had mental breakdowns and such like RupertBear.

I had my times that I had felt like leaving---mostly due to the fact that we did have such a problem with some very nasty and persistent "trolls."

But I obviously did remain.

I came to the decision that I would stay here---because just like in the real world--things and places do change, for good and bad and you just have to roll with those changes and not pine for times and people gone by.

So--the site did help me. I still enjoy it and as I think as long as I am still around and the site is still in operation---I will continue to come here.

Sure as hell is hard to think that I have been on here for SIX YEARS, though!!!

To everyone who has become part of my life--either having met some on here in person or just talked to you on here these past however many years or months you have been here--thanks to you all.

well volty, I, for one, am glad you are still with us.

Although I joined a couple years after you, I still miss the "old guard" who have since moved on *sigh*.

>>Happy New Year to you and yourn<<.

Happy anniversary, Volty!

I've certainly learned and have grown since I joined, too.

hi voltman, was going to ask you in a personal message (feel a little uncomfortable after cock's thread about straights getting involved on bi site), but found you don't receive them. what are 'trolls'?

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY Volty,

I remember those wonderful nights we shared chatting...with Used Bear, Kate, CMM and Lisa V and Huney and Smurf. You were one of the first fine folks to take the time to get to know me....the straight wife. Time has indeed flown by. I often think of our friends in their clasped grasped that Huney drew and of laughter we shared.

Wishing you the best for the New Year.

hi voltman, was going to ask you in a personal message (feel a little uncomfortable after cock's thread about straights getting involved on bi site), but found you don't receive them. what are 'trolls'?

My dear--"trolls" are a nasty sort---you know what they are---ones who basically come to a site like this to stir up trouble in some way or another---we have either had one major one who has shown up periodically---but prolifically when he does---or at times a few of them working the site at the same time.

It has made for some unpleasantness on here, sad to say---the troll or trolls did stir things up for sure and caused a fair degree of dissension at times on the site.

Unfortunately---we had some pretty good regulars for one reason or another---I guess due to some mental problems that got out of control---who became a version of trolls as well.
