View Full Version : Shaving Body Hair-Men

I am an extremely hirsute man. In that I do not mean just hairy legs and chest but hair more in line with the wild-men off in the corners in European heraldry! I had never shaved any of my hair off before besides my face. Curious to see what I looked like I decided to shave my torso and my back (yes, it is there as well). I was shocked to find I had much more sculpted muscles than I ever imagined!
But then, peering at myself in the mirror, I realized a problem...I am not the type of man that could get away with just shaving my torso and back. The difference was too drastic. I then proceeded to shave my entire body to the best of my ability. After half an hour of hacking and shaving and cutting I managed to get myself more or less smooth all over. Except my arse! :oh:
(I'll have to figure out how to do that later!) After a few days, I have decided I look much more attractive in my current condition. My more "pretty boy" features and "sensitive" personality never did match my "macho-man" body. But as it has grown back and I have shaved it once more, I realize that this is going to require a lot of work! I may have been blessed with Frodo's curly hair but unfortunately I also have his hobbit feet!
Think it would be worth it for any lover, feminine or masculine? I know that I personally like women to be hairless below the neck and men as well. But that's just me...
Thoughts, my bi brothers and sisters?

Kindly,
Thomas The Rhymer

:cool:I think that it is a matter of preferance. I know people who like hairy men and some who like them nice and smooth. The best advice that I can give you is go with watever makes you happy. Remember that happiness begins with you! Best wishes to you!

What Herr Taytor said.

Personally I prefer smooth on everyone! It just looks/feels to much better and being smooth myself I LOVE the skin on skin feel while being intimate.

What a coincidence in that you just posted this. I just wrote a fellow cross dresser this morning that I was considering shaving my legs. I've been thinking about it and came to realize I, too, prefer mostly hairless men.

About the only downside, as you brought up, is the hassle of shaving off all your hair so often. I shaved off my mustache of over 30 years a couple weeks ago and think I look much better (and everyone says younger), and it's much easier shaving my upper lip each day than trimming it with scissors.

Shaving legs each day is different, though, as I never pay attention to my legs most of the time. I might just give it a try and see how long it takes the hair to come back.

Don't know that I'd want to shave my entire body, though.

I've had a short, trimmed, beard for about 40 years.

I shaved it off a while back and everyone said, "Quick, grow it back....look how much ugly you've uncovered!"

Like Abe Lincoln, I'm better off hiding in the bushes!

One of my favorite lovers ever was this Lebanese man. He was much like you describe yourself... he was just a hair-fest!!

I love a good hairy man!!

That said, you have to do what YOU like. If you decide to keep it all up, look into going to a salon and getting waxed. It's quicker and it lasts longer.

Otherwise, find yourself a lover who is into shaving and you two would be a match made in heaven!

Since I'm rather fair faired, it's not too noticeable on me. And plus it's very thin and soft. Many like it and I like it too, so it stays. But twice a year I do do my back . It's just the principle of the thing.

Adult men are supposed to have body hair.

Shaving and waxing your body is not a good thing.

If a guy is naturally smooth that's fine.

Seeing a man that's completely shaved and waxed is a turn off for lots of men and women. For many men shaving their entire body is akin to wearing makeup or putting on women's clothing and these are all major turn offs for lots of bisexual and gay men.

I can understand your surprise to find that your torso was more muscle sculpted than you thought that it was.;)

Have you thought about clipping it with body /beard clippers? Some hairy guys do that and it may be a little less of a pain than shaving so much of your body...just a thought.

I have mixed thoughts about body shaving on a man. Many women have enjoyed my hairy chest to the point of twirling and playing with it as we talked after making love. It wasn't until I was with another hairy chested guy that I got what they liked. My chest hair is also naturally soft and that seem to be a plus. I think that it is a bit weird that society has been turning away from seeing men with a hairy chest as admirable and given that admiration to hairless male bodies. It is one thing to be naturally smooth and another to spend a lot of time body shaving. Hair peeking out of a shirt collar seems a bit much and perhaps should be trimmed like ear and nose hair (the after 40 thing..lol) Shaving your balls can be kewl to the touch though.

Good luck with whatever you decide to do as far a maintenance. It is a personal choice.

To each his own, to be sure. Yet I think there is a drastic difference between
a man who looks like this...

and a fellow like myself who is much closer to...

I think one man might get laid far more often than the other...

Don't be too sure of that.

There are lots of bisexual and gay men who would find the 2nd man to be a real man and a walking wet dream!

To them the first man is a major and complete turn off.

True, now that you mention it actually isn't there a gay subculture where men like the latter are more attractive? Bears, perhaps? I am more heterosexual than homosexual so I must confess an ignorance of gay culture in general...

Yes that's true even though the whole "Bear" thing is a joke nowadays compared to what it was like in the 80s and 90s. Now they have the "bear" fashion pageants and guys who are not masculine or hairy at all claiming that they are bears.

Then there are guys who are way out of shape and obese claiming that they are bears because they think that hairy men and bears will want them but that's not true.

There's a saying among gay and bisexual men that nowadays "bear" is now another term for letting yourself go.

Lots of gay and bisexual men crave and want natural men in the 2nd pic and not the type of guy in the first pic.

Just because a guy is hairy or likes hairy men that does not mean that he's a bear or attracted to "bears". There are lots of natural hairy men who don't like being grouped in with bears or being considered a bear or a guy that's into self identified "bears".

They sure are......Only thing I would say is...Shaving..aarrgghh!!Waxing or an epilator. An epilator being a much more cost effective way of dealing with hair removal. Both will discourage the growth of hair....looks down at my once many times waxed legs....gee the hairs stopped growing:)

To be hirsute or not to be hirsute...that is the question! Well, it's how you feel.....on a personal level and how comfortable you are, with your body image. Some hairless people, wish they had more hair. Just be happy guys :)

I think that guys are use to shaving their face and it seems to be an easy solution. So, we use that approach. There are some body areas that are not so easy to shave though...;)

LOL!!...Yeah.....I can imagine that...the not so easy to shave......all that delicate skin and equipment

Shaving the body is a little different from shaving the face...isn't it? Bodily skin being a little more sensitive? Where faces are concerned....I reckon a little stubble is nice....or a full beard.

Don't envy you the task of shaving the whole body, if one has that preference....makes me itch thinking about it........

My son looks like the second picture posted above. He is a body builder and to compete he needs to be hairless. His mother used clipper on him from his waist up, and mid theighs down. He trimms the rest with clippers. Then he goes into a shop where they do waxing. A close female friend works there and she had told him she would wax his body. She waxed his entire body, from the neck down. Now he goes back to her when ever he starts feeling stubble, and she waxes him. Keeps himself smooth now but at a price. He admits it's painful, especially some areas.
